Minjeong walked towards her kitchen, furrowing her eyebrows when she came across Yizhuo sitting in her living room with a smile on her face.
"That was fast."
"I have a lot to tell you," Yizhuo said, patting the couch. "Sit and listen. You're gonna love this."
"Am I?" Minjeong asked, making her way to Yizhuo nonetheless. "Am I really?"
"Yes, now hush," Yizhuo made herself comfortable as she looked at Minjeong with a smile. "Karina defended your honour and Jaemin is out of our lives."
Minjeong looked back at Yizhuo in confusion, "What?"
"Jaemin was talking rubbish about you and before I could even get a word in, Karina defended you," Yizhuo told. "I did not know he was bad... I am really sorry for pushing you to go out with him."
"It's okay. He was nice to me," Minjeong shrugged, ignoring the part where Yizhuo mentioned Karina. "What did he say?"
"Called you difficult, said that's why you don't have any friends, and thinks you're gonna go running to him when things don't work out for you." Yizhuo tried to be as brief as possible. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt Minjeong, though she figured nothing the man said would hold any value to her at all.
"He's come to a lot of conclusions from a date that ended early," Minjeong laughed lightly. "Whatever, I'm glad I don't have to deal with him anymore."
"Yeah, I'm just... not gonna set you up anymore," Yizhuo said. "With men at least."
"Don't set me up with anyone." Minjeong made it clear.
"Did you hear what I said about Karina?" Yizhuo ignored everything else Minjeong said, wiggling her eyebrows to get a reaction.
"I did," Minjeong nodded. "I'll thank her tomorrow. That was really nice of her."
"She didn't even give me a chance to speak," Yizhuo added (added to Minjeong losing her mind). "She was ready to fight him."
"You're making this a bigger deal than it is," Minjeong muttered. "She did what any friend would do."
"That woman is not your friend." Yizhuo laughed.
"Whoa... rude," Minjeong frowned. "Karina and I are friends... I think."
"She definitely likes you more than a friend," Yizhuo told. "I can bet my last dollar on this."
"Please stop making bets that involve your money and my life," Minjeong warned. "I just don't see how standing up for a friend means she likes me. You are grasping at straws."
"If you were there, you'd understand why I think this way," Yizhuo huffed. "The way she jumped in without any hesitation... even I'm not that fast."
"She was doing what any friend would do," Minjeong repeated. "I'll thank her tomorrow and everything will be normal moving forward."
Yizhuo raised an eyebrow, "Have things been abnormal?"
"No," Minjeong muttered. "Just- no weird things."
Yizhuo squinted her eyes at Minjeong, trying to get into her brain, "What happened between you two?"
"Nothing!" Minjeong exclaimed. "Nothing happened! Why would anything happen between us? We're just friends."
As soon as Minjeong said that, she watched Yizhuo's face light up with curiosity, which meant she had made a grave mistake. This was going to be a very long night for her.
