Each broken sob sent a bolt of burning pain through your chest. Something was probably broken, and maybe that was why you were eventually able to calm down enough to stop crying.
If only because some instinct inside you piped up and realized crying was making it hurt more. Then it was just awkwardly quiet for a while, until you leaned back off of Razz. Not looking directly at anyone in the room.
"...IF YOU NEED INSTRUCTION ON DISEMBOWELING SOMEONE-" Razz started stiffly, breaking the silence.
"I'm gonna interrupt you there bro. Not right now." Rus's soft voice, startled a huffed laugh from you, making you wince and wrap your arms around your middle.
What the hell, today has been absolutely insane already.
"I was...there's this thick artery that carries blood to and from the femur...the femoral artery...if you cut it a person could bleed to death in minutes...if not seconds." You explained, wishing that was something you remembered from your schooling.
A drug deal gone wrong, back when you and Jasmine had been working the streets. The John had just been grazed in the leg by a stray bullet. You thought he was gonna be fine, but he was dead before the car even made it out of the parking lot.
"It's further to the right." Ginger's voice shook as it drew your attention to the couch, the large skeleton's lone eye light was locked on you, but it wasn't right. Pinprick small and darting across your face and down to your throat, then back to your face. "...that big one that makes em' bleed out quick...it's more towards the inside of the leg."
"Huh...well shit...are you alright Ginger?" You asked, bringing a hand up to your stinging throat.
The large skeleton huffed out a laugh that was a little too high as his hand crawled like a spider up into his empty socket, tugging at the corner.
"Don't worry about me Pumpkin...worry about yourself." He muttered quietly.
"WELL! As...umm as worried as we are I think I should...upstairs, we should definitely go upstairs. Right now...brother." Nutmeg said, nervously standing in front of Ginger to get his attention before offering his hand to the obviously troubled skeleton. When Ginger didn't reach for it Nutmeg nervously shifted, "M-maybe someone should take her to the hospital...now would be-" He was interrupted by Ginger, removing his hand from his socket and putting it into Nutmeg's outreached hand.
"...yeah...I think...upstairs." He eventually said haltingly, his tiny pinprick of an eye light finding Nutmeg unsteadily, shaking in its socket as it tried to focus on his brother. Nutmeg sighed, pulling Ginger up off the couch.
"YOU KNOW...THE HOSPITAL PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE A BAD IDEA. I CAN TAKE YOU." Papyrus offered, wringing his hands nervously. Razz nodded, standing up with his feet shoulder length apart and his hands behind his back in a relaxed parade rest.
"AN EXCELLENT SUGGESTION, I WOULD ENCOURAGE SAFFRON TO ACCOMPANY YOU, GIVEN HIS...EXPERTISE."
"I-I could go with her...i-if- you know-" Rus stuttered out.
"I NEED YOU WITH ME...AND EDGE IF YOUR AMICABLE." Razz offered. Even through your hazy, shocked numbness, you could see plotting when it was going on right in front of you.
I mean come on guys, what other reason would Razz have for inviting Edge of all people to go out with him? You thought. I might be concussed but I'm not stupid.
"He's not-" You croaked, wincing when speaking over a whisper, felt like swallowing razor wire. "He's not worth getting into any trouble ...he'll be right back in prison-" You trailed off, shaking your head as the pain became too much.
