We have to tell the most important person to both of us, Milena.
I already told my mom and she is on her way to Romania. She wants to discuss wedding planning but before we do, Milena has to know.
From both of us.
She has played a part in both of our lives.
I sat beside Sin in the back of the car, my fingers intertwined with his. Neither of us said much.
The silence between us wasn't uncomfortable. It was the kind of silence that came from knowing there was something important waiting for us.
I looked over at him. "Are you nervous?" He glanced at me. "A little."
I smiled. "You?" "Very."
He chuckled. "You? Nervous?" "Yes."
"I'm surprised." I rolled my eyes. "I'm human, Sin."
He smiled and squeezed my hand. "I know."
I looked out the window. Romania passed by in a blur, but my mind was somewhere else.
I kept thinking about what we were about to say. How would Milena react?Would she be happy?Would she be shocked?Would she have questions?Probably all three.
I took a deep breath. "She deserves to hear it from us."
Sin nodded. "She does." "And together." "Definitely."
I smiled slightly. That was one thing I loved about us. We didn't always know what the future held, but when it came to the important things, we faced them together.
The car eventually pulled to a stop. I looked at Sin.
He looked back at me. "You ready?" I took a breath. "No."
He laughed. "Me neither." We got out of the car and walked toward the house. My heart was beating faster with every step. When we reached the door, Sin stopped.
He looked at me. "Whatever happens, we're doing this together." I nodded. "Together."
He opened the door. Milena was sitting in the living room when we walked inside. She looked up immediately. Her eyes moved between the two of us.
Then she smiled. "There you are." I smiled back. "Hi, Milena."
She looked at us for a moment. Then her expression changed. "You two look serious." Sin and I exchanged a glance.
Milena narrowed her eyes. "What happened?" I walked toward her and sat down.Sin sat beside me. I reached for his hand. Milena looked down at our intertwined fingers. Her eyebrows lifted.
"Oh." My heart jumped. She already knew something was happening.
I smiled nervously. "There's something we need to tell you.
