The history begins of the forging of the Great Rings in the second age. Three rings were gave to the elves, seven rings to the dwarves, and nine rings were given to Men.

Seven to the dwalf-lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine... Nine rings were gifted to the race of men, who, above all else, desire power.

Then, it shows the map of Middle-Earth. The lands in Middle-Earth are showed on it.

Woman narrating: For within these rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race. But they were all of them deceived, for another ring was made.

Scene zooms in on the land by Gondor, Mordor. It then shows the land itself, with its live volcano, Mount Doom. In it, a dark lord in armor name Sauron has forged his own master Ring.
