"Murder?"

Alexander could feel himself not believing his own words that came out.

"She was murdered just because she won a case against them?"

Alexander felt anger surge through him. She was a lawyer and she was just doing her job and so they killed her? Is there no law left in this country that could bring justice to her?

"You said they left a clue behind, what's it?"

"Their flag."

"Isn't it enough to prove their involvement?"

"It is but..." Ivan hesitated.

"What?"

"We don't know their location now. They left this country a year ago and settled somewhere else."

"No they haven't." Alexander whispered.

"What?"

"If they had left, they wouldn't have been able to plant the bomb, would they?"

"It doesn't work like that Alexander, they have people working for them in every part of the world. You can't identify them in a crowd. They might be just looking at you in this moment or trying to target you. Also, it might happen it would be the friendliest person you have talked with in the morning. You don't know them. The minions don't even know each other, they happen to receive calls from an unknown number and they do their work in exchange of money. They don't care who's the boss and who's getting killed as long as they are being paid."

"Is there no way then to catch them?"

"I don't know, if the police department doesn't find any lead on the case in the next 5 days they would shut down the case."

"So they would let go of a murderer just like that?"

"Thousands of lawyers are getting killed everyday like this, your wife is just one of them."

Alexander pulled his collar.

"My wife is not just anyone! Your daughter is not just anyone." He gritted his teeth.

Ivan held his hands and removed them from his collar.

"They are not anyone, but what are they to the police department? Just another case and nothing else."

"So you are saying my wife was murdered just like that and there would be no investigation?"

"There would be but I don't see any chance of a revival. I am afraid the case will soon be closed down."

Alexander held his hair tightly and let out a frustrated groan. The fever was getting into his nerves and he felt hot.

Ivan sighed and kept a hand on his shoulder.

"I would try my best within these 5 days, I won't sleep properly unless I get a clue. You should keep yourself safe. There's a possibility you are their next target."

Alex let out a chuckle.

"I was involved the day they killed my wife, my unborn child. My life doesn't matter anymore and it won't harm me anything if I die. I have failed to protect her, protect my child and this guilt is going to eat me till the last day of my life."

Ivan sighed and walked through the door.

"Try your best Morgan.."

Ivan halted in his steps.

"Because if you don't find a clue, I would be the one who will get the law in his own hands."

Ivan seemed to look back from over his shoulder and then walked away, locking the door.
