After paying for the drinks that Taylor had ordered for herself, Avery said goodbye to Joe who offered to help but she refused. He already did so much just by watching Taylor and making sure she was safe.“So I'll see you around then?” Joe said, smiling at the brunette.
“Mhm, definitely see you around, mate.” Avery said, returning the warm smile the blue eyed man was giving her before she headed out the door of the building.
Avery helped Taylor get out of the bar and head to the waiting cab outside. Taylor was already so drunk as Avery guided her.
“Where's Spencer?” She asked the blonde when they got in the back of the taxi as Taylor immediately rested her head on Avery's shoulders.
“Home, I sneaked out.” Taylor said softly, almost like a whisper while she chuckles.
Avery laughed as well.
Fortunately, she had known where the singer lived from one of their chit-chats as she told the cab driver where. She was glad that Taylor was okay, but she knows what's been happening lately through social media. Maybe that's why she got so drunk. Avery looked at Taylor, pushing away the strand of hair in her face as she smiled at her.
Avery texted Spencer that Taylor was with her and about to head into the blonde's apartment which Spencer just replied with a thumbs up emoji.
“Avery?” Taylor asked. She didn't look at the brunette just yet though.
“Hm?” Avery said, as she looked down at Taylor resting on her shoulder..
It took some seconds before Taylor could even say a word to ask the actress about that.
“Are you mad at me? I'm sorry.” Taylor asked so innocently, she looked so tired. Avery was taken aback by the question but she knew what she meant as she smiled again before answering.
“Of course not. Why would I be mad at you? And no need to apologize, Tay.” She answered Taylor with a soft and quiet voice.
“Because I was ignoring you and I didn't text you back for weeks, and I was being such a bitch too.” Taylor said, as she fidgets around with Avery's left hand.
“Oh…well- no I'm not mad about that, and just so you know, you're definitely not a bitch for doing that.” The brunette said calmly.
“Why not?” Taylor asked curiously. She was confused on how calm and collected the actress was about being ignored by her for days, but at the same time she was glad she wasn't.
“I don't know- maybe it's because we're friends, and I know that you're going through a lot, so I understand whatever the reason may be for you doing that.” Avery said, reassuring Taylor that it was totally fine, and of course Avery didn't lie, but she also didn't ask why Taylor was ignoring her, she respected if the blonde didn't wanna talk about it. It would be best if she asked when she's finally sober.
Taylor pauses for a moment, she looks at Avery's hand before breaking the silence.
“I'm a snake.” She said, Taylor sounded like she was about to cry, as Avery squeezed her hand.
“No you're not, Tay. Don't listen to them.” Avery said with such a sweet voice.
“How can I? Everyone believes her, and I- I can't do anything.” The blonde said, and Avery felt so bad how everyone just turned against her so easily. Taylor looked like she was about to break any second as she talked to the actress, and Avery appreciated how Taylor was still trying to be strong as she held back her tears.
“How about we talk about it when you're sober, huh?” The actress said, as she smiled at Taylor who just nodded.
She thought that it was better if Taylor was alcohol free, her mind would be a lot clearer, and she would really know when and how she would talk about it.
After a cold minute, the rain came pouring down out of nowhere. Even though Taylor's eyelids were so heavy. She still managed to be awake while they finally arrived at the singer's apartment. Avery tipped the man a few bucks and apologized.
And as expected, Spencer was right outside the door of Taylor's apartment waiting. He quickly headed to the two with an umbrella for Taylor and Avery.
“Ms. Bexley, I'll help you-” Renzo said when they reached the door to the blonde’s apartment, but Avery offered her a smile before saying.
“No, I got it. You should rest, it's very late I'm sure i can handle Taylor. Thank you for waiting, by the way.” Avery said nicely, before Renzo nodded and opened the door for the two, she thanked the blonde's body guard.
It was Avery's first time being in Taylor's apartment, it was larger than hers but it was well organized and clean. She was greeted by Oliva, who she assumed thst Taylor mentioned the people cat and the other not so much of a lover for socializing which was Meridith.
“Where's your room?” Avery asked Taylor who was clinging onto her arm.
“Left.” Taylor said simply as Avery walked to the door on the left.
She opened the door to the blonde's bedroom, opening the lamp. The cats followed her and got on top of the bed before Taylor could herself. Avery helped her get into the bed without knocking anything over the desk that was very close to her bed.
As soon as Avery placed Taylor down on her bed, she was about to go and leave but Taylor was still holding her hand.
“Stay for the night.” Taylor said.
But Avery can't, she has to work tomorrow and get up early to go to the set.
“I can't-” Taylor cut her off.
“Please? Just until I fall asleep, I don't wanna be alone.” The blonde said, and that could immediately make Avery stay. She laid down beside Taylor, facing her, but she had put a pillow between them.
Avery looked at Taylor's face while she had her eyes closed. Her hand was so soft and Taylor wouldn't let go of it.
“Avery?” Taylor asked with her eyes closed.
“I'm here.” She says to Taylor putting her hand on top of Taylor's hand as well.
“I really really like you.”
Taylor said, and Avery didn't know if she was serious, what if she meant it as a friend? But she took the wrist as she hoped Taylor wouldn't remember anything tomorrow when she woke up.
“I really like you too, Taylor Alison Swift.” Avery said, her voice was low and calm. She was genuine about it but knows that Taylor didn't probably mean what she just said.
“That's dumb for you to say that you like me too.” Taylor lets out a drunk laugh, before the room goes quiet again.
“Sleep already. I won't leave just yet.” Avery said as she looked at Taylor, admiring her view of her face.
“Promise?” She asked so cutely.
“Promise.”
And with that Avery did eventually stay over until the blonde was fast asleep, resulting in her not getting any sleep at all but that doesn't really matter. She reminded Spencer to give some Pepto-Bismol and water to Taylor whenever she wakes up.
Avery couldn't really lie honestly when she says that Taylor would forget their conversation earlier, she knows some part of her hoped she would remember it.
But even if she does, it's not like they were gonna happen. Taylor wouldn't cheat on Tom Hiddleston with an unknown British actress, right?
