Days passed by fast and it was already September 28. The few kisses that Taylor and Avery shared became more than just that as now Taylor found herself sitting in front of her piano on a friday evening while she tried to find words to rhyme.
She had been sitting there for about 15 minutes by now as Taylor tried to come up with a chord progression, pressing a few keys as the room was filled with it as she hummed along softly mumbling a few words there and then.
“I’m perfectly fine, I live on my own…” The blonde sang as she thought about the next line.
Taylor then continued to spend minutes and minutes with her piano while Meredith was peacefully sleeping next to the chair close to Taylor. She writes the lyrics she had come up with on the note app on her phone as she continued playing and pressing random keys on her piano.
“Wow.”
Taylor flinched a little when she heard Avery's voice behind her as she quickly turned her head to look at the brunette who had a huge smirk on her face while she was leaning against the door frame with her arms crossed.
“You scared the crap out of me!” Taylor exclaimed at Avery who laughed.
“Sorry, I brought um- food!” Avery replied as Taylor saw a white paper bag on the actress's hand.
“You cooked?” The blonde asked curiously.
“Yeah…don't worry I called Catty to help me since Pierre wasn't available to help me, So! It's safe to eat, I promise.” Avery said the last line jokingly while Taylor laughed at her.
“I'll just place it on your counter, yeah?” She said to the older woman as the singer just nodded at her as she swiftly made her way to the kitchen. Making sure to place it on a safe place where any of Taylor's cats would push it off the countertop.
Taylor waited for the brunette to come back as she looked at the keys in front of her and some music sheets she couldn't even read. When Avery came back Avery walked closer to Taylor closely.
“Do you play?” Taylor said, looking at Avery who was next to her, standing.
“Not really, I haven't played in decades.” Avery said, chuckling softly as Taylor didn't believe her.
“I won't believe it unless you show me!” Taylor said, crossing her arms as she pouted her lips, looking away from the brunette.
Avery sighs as she sat next to the blonde woman on the piano as Taylor was still looking away but this time she was only hiding the fact she was smiling.
“I'm a little rusty, but might as well…”
As Avery started playing the piano, Taylor finally took the chance to watch her as she fully turned around and looked at the brunette. She was playing it beautifully.
Pft- liar. Taylor thought as she only smiled wider at the sight of Avery tickling the ivories right by her side.
“I know I stand in line until you think, You have the time to spend an evening with me.” Avery sang as she kept her gaze on the keys as she played the instrument.
Taylor took a moment to realize what song the actress was playing but as soon as she recognized it, her cheeks became flushed with a red hue. The blonde was captivated by how smoothly Avery was playing her piano. She remembers it after not playing for decades? Taylor asked herself as she was also amazed.
After minutes of hearing Avery's sweet and soft voice sing, the song was coming into and end as Avery turned her head slowly as she looked at Taylor in the eyes as she sang:
