Muzan's eyes widened slightly.

"What?" He asked in disbelief.

"I want to marry you." You confessed.

"Why?" He asked.

You weren't expecting that question.

"Why? Well..." You rubbed the back of your neck nervously.

There were plenty of reasons why.

"You're the most handsomest man I've ever met in my life." You blushed.

Muzan listened intently as you began to list the reasons why you wanted to be his wife.

"Beneath your hard exterior, you're very soft and kind. You just don't show that side of you. You're very strong, doing your best to fight off this illness of yours. Which I know you'll overcome." You smiled softly at him.

"But I'm dying." He replied.

You stopped talking and just stared at him in disbelief.

"I know." You said, choking on the tears that threatened to pour out any moment.

"But my eyes have only ever been on you. I can't see myself with anyone else." You closed your eyes and let the tears flow.

Muzan watched with a hardened gaze before reaching out and wiping your tears away with his thumb pad.

"Save your tears." He said.

You tried to stop yourself from crying but it felt like an impossible task.

"Come here." He instructed, pulling you to lay your head on his lap.

He ran his fingers through your hair as you continued to cry.

"If circumstances were different..." Muzan said.

"You would be my first choice as a bride."

The sounds of crying slowly diminished as you felt your heart flutter.

"Really?" You asked.

"Yes."

You sat up and smiled at him. He cupped your cheek and you leaned into his touch. All your troubles seemed to melt away in that moment.

"I promise you, whether it be a 1000 years from now in another life, I'll wed you. It is unfortunate that things are the way they are in this life." Muzan said.

"It truly is unfortunate." You said, a tear rolling down your cheek.

"In the meantime, I think it's best you find someone who suits you best. I wouldn't want to keep you from married life." Muzan said despite wanting to keep you all to himself.

"I don't think I could..." You said, sniffling.

"I want you and only you."

Upon hearing these words, Muzan placed his other hand on the opposite cheek and leaned in.
