You laid on your futon in the spare room, having a hard time falling asleep. You just couldn't stop thinking about earlier.

The way he cupped your chin gave you butterflies, and they were still lingering.

You reached up and touched your chin, as if his touch was still ghosting over your skin.

You closed your eyes and took a deep breathe, hoping to fall asleep.

"Where were you all night?" Your father asked. He wasn't extremely worried about you since he knew you were smart enough to take care of yourself, but he still was frustrated you were out all night without telling him you'd be gone until the morning.

"Ah..." You blushed and rubbed your arm anxiously.

"Were you out partying with Lady Yumi all night?" He asked.

"Well, yes. I stayed at the Kibutsuji residence afterwards." You obviously neglected to mention that you had danced with his patient and bathed with him while both of you were buzzed from the wine.

"Ah, Lady Yumi and the Kibutsuji family take quite a liking to you." Your father smiled and pinched your cheek.

"I don't blame them. You're a beam of light."

You giggled and playfully pushed your father's hand away.

"The maid prepared tea for us in the garden." Your father said.

"Oh, lovely." You replied as you followed him out to the large indoor garden.

You sat on the garden chair across from your father as the maid poured both of you a hot cup of tea.

"Kibutsuji-sama seems to take a liking to you." He said.

"Yes! I've noticed! Do you think I'm doing anything different, father?" You asked.

"No. You're doing just fine. I think he's just finally understood that you're there to help him get better. He has had a tough life with his health." He said.

"Thankfully, his family is filthy rich so he wouldn't have lived this long without his money. You know people pay a pretty penny for my work." He boasted, smiling at you.

"As they should! You put so much time and effort into treating your patients. It's no wonder your work is so high in demand." You replied.

He sighed and took a sip from his tea. "Kibutsuji is a very tough case. I've exhausted my most common practices on him. I don't think I've spent this much time on a single patient. I'm going to schedule another trip across Japan to look for something that might cure him."

"But... we usually do those trips once a year, and we just went on one." You frowned.

Those annual trips were always long, keeping you away from home and Muzan.
