Muzan looked down at the newspaper one of his demons got from China.
The wife of Lin Guoliang murdered and ate the noble family, and once she was executed, she stood up and reattached her head to her body.
Well, he was certain that was you.
"Dai Gualiang... Y/n L/n... you've made quite the impact on Beijing... I wonder if this sudden attention will result in you coming back to Japan?" Muzan thought.
Deep within Muzan, he longed for you. Longed for what you both once were. It was something he constantly suppressed.
He hated you. Hated that you stole his only chance to walk in the sunlight.
But he loved you. He loved you more than anything.
He was constantly conflicted with himself.
As several hundred years went by and no sign of your presence in Japan, he wondered if he would be able to see you again.
He tried to find a replacement. A girl your age who had became sick and was looking for a cure to her ailment.
Her name was Tamayo.
Muzan had turned her into a demon against her will, and turned her into his servant.
Tamayo didn't fill the void, especially since she was unwilling to in the first place.
She was an exceptional demon, unlike the others who had died so easily at the hands of demon slayers.
But she wasn't you.
Tamayo knew of your existence, since at some point in Muzan's life his purpose was to find you instead of the blue spider lily or something that could grant him his ideal body.
Since Muzan's blood coursed through her veins, she would frequently get memories from Muzan's human days.
And most of them consisted of you.
They were warm and sweet. She never mentioned them to Muzan, but she enjoyed seeing a soft part of him.
She wondered if that part still existed.
Tamayo could see why Muzan liked you so much. You really were lovely.
One night, she found herself in Muzan's study. She usually was by his side anyways.
"My Lord," She started.
He looked up from his work on the table and turned around to meet Tamayo's eyes.
"What?" He answered.
She nervously looked down at the wood floors, contemplating asking him this question.
"Have you ever been in love?" She asked rather boldly.
There was a long pause as Muzan seemed to stiffen at her question. "Foolish question. Those are human emotions I abandoned long ago."
