You, Zihan, Li, Michikatsu and Yoriichi were outside of your house in the moonlight.
Yoriichi wanted to show you something he had invented and was using as a demon slayer.
Michikatsu was already in a bad mood before Yoriichi demonstrated his immense power, and he wasn't looking forward to it.
Yoriichi drew his sword and demonstrated the twelve forms of breath of the sun, something he invented called a "breathing style."
He almost looked like he was dancing as he demonstrated each form.
You watched with awe as your eyes sparkled. Michikatsu pretended to act unimpressed but he couldn't help but be fascinated with Yoriichi's breath of the sun.
In that moment of pure fiery envy, he decided he would be a demon slayer too. He wanted to one-up Yoriichi.
He looked at you and his jealously soared even more. He had never seen you look so impressed before. Not at him.
Only at Yoriichi.
Once he was done performing each form, Zihan and Li clapped and cheered him on as you jumped into his arms.
Michikatsu narrowed his eyes at Yoriichi's embarrassed expression, as if he didn't just preform an amazing feat.
He smiled softly as you embraced him and praised him.
Michikatsu wanted that praise for himself.
"That was amazing, Yoriichi! How did you manage to learn that?" You bombarded him with questions as he blushed slightly from your praise.
Michikatsu gritted his teeth at the sight as you cupped his face in your hands and smiled warmly at him.
"You're truly phenomenal." You said.
He blushed and his eyes averted your gaze as he smiled softly. "It wasn't much..." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Nonsense. I've never seen a human do that. It was like magic." You said.
Yoriichi pulled you closer as he tucked stray strands of your hair behind your ear as he looked down at you with longing.
You smiled up at him and said "I'm so proud of you."
"I've decided that I want to be the one to kill Kibutsuji." Yoriichi said.
"I think you're the only one who's capable of doing it." You said.
Michikatsu left without notice upon seeing you and Yoriichi's closeness.
"Michi!" Li called out, chasing after him.
"Where are you going?" She asked.
"Home." He replied.
"Oh... aren't you going to say goodbye to Y/n-sama and Yoriichi-san?" Li asked.
