𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧

𝘚𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘯

Today was the day Viserra would be giving birth. Viserra was walking around her chambers with the aid of Mariah, Johanna, Rhaenyra, and Alicent. Daemon was inside the council chambers with his nephew and the rest of the great council. They were discussing the matter of betrothals for the Targaryen children and war plans but Daemon wasn't listening to anyone he was lost in his thoughts knowing that something would happen to one of his babes or his wife. Viserra had triplets before but one of them died and Viserra passed out from exhaustion. Daemon wanted to be in the chamber with her but Viserra wanted Daemon to handle business with her brother.

Viserra felt the contractions coming and the girls around helped her down to her bed and the maester checked to see if she was ready to push.
"The Queen is ready to push," the maester told Alicent.

"Viserra, the maesters say you are ready to push so when you feel a contraction you must push, alright!" Alicent said. 

Viserra nodded while breathing slowly through the pain. The Queen felt the contractions coming and pushed with all of her strength until the first babe was born.

"A girl, your majesty," the maester said as he handed the babe to the midwives, "a healthy baby girl. Now my Queen babe number two is ready, when you feel the contraction push."
Viserra cried and screamed as the wave of contractions came. She pushed gripping Rhaenyra's and Alicent's hands.

"We can see the head," she heard the maester say. Viserra pushed and pushed until she heard the crying of the second babe.

"A boy." Viserra cried as she watched her son and daughter be held by the midwives.

"My Queen, we are not done, there is another babe, we need you to push urgently," the maester said. Viserra shook her head.

"I cannot, I'm tired," Viserra cried, "get me Daemon." Rhaenyra looked to Alicent as she left the queen's side and ran out of the chambers.
Alicent ran and ran until she got to the council chambers. She burst through the doors and approached Daemon and whispered in his ear. The men in the room looked to the dowager queen and King consort. They watched as Daemon's mood changed from anger to fear. They all watched as they rushed out of the room. Aenar knew the reason why his uncle ran out of the meeting. Everyone was muttering among themselves so Aenar grabbed their attention.

"The Queen needs Daemon at this moment in time, and we will continue with the meeting without him now back to business."

Alicent and Daemon entered the chambers where Daemon saw his wife screaming in pain. He looked over to the crying babies in the arms of the midwives. A maester approached the Prince.

"My Prince the babe is ready to come out but the Queen is struggling to push. We need to encourage her to push or we will have to have you choose." Daemon couldn't believe what he was hearing. He would have to choose between his wife and baby. He couldn't do it, he would not lose them both.

"I want them both to live, I will not choose between life or death for either of them. Now save them both." Daemon strides over to his wife and took her hand in his.
"Viserra, I'm here my love, I need you to breathe and listen to my voice. You are the blood of the dragon and you are strong. You need to push so that our baby lives so that you live. I can't lose you both." Viserra looked to her sister and then to her husband.

"I love you," she whispered. Daemon kissed her knuckles.

"I love you too." With the help from Daemon, her sister, and Alicent, Viserra knew she had to do it for the sake of her child's life as well as hers so when she felt the wave of contractions, she pushed with all her might as she gripped Daemon and Rhaenyra's hands tightly.
With the words of encouragement from the people around her, Viserra used the last of her strength and pushed hard until she finally heard the sounds of a crying babe.
"A girl," the maester said. The last babe was handed to the midwives and laid next to the other babes. Viserra felt a little light-headed and passed out from the pain. Daemon was worried for his wife but the maester reassured him she would be fine.
