The steady rain against the studio windows matched the melancholic melody flowing through your headphones. It was already 10 p.m., but you couldn't bring yourself to leave, not when the track was finally coming together, and certainly not when you had the privilege of working with Rosé herself.

"Should we try that bridge one more time?" you asked, swiveling in your chair to face her.

The soft lighting of the studio cast a warm glow on her delicate features, her pink-tinted hair cascading over one shoulder as she studied the sheet music.

"Just one more," she replied with that gentle smile that always made your heart skip. "I feel like we're really close to getting it perfect."

You had been working as a sound engineer at the studio for two years, but the past few weeks collaborating with Rosé on her new solo project had been surreal. Unlike some artists who maintained a careful distance from the production team, she was hands-on, genuinely interested in the technical aspects of sound mixing.

"The reverb on the last run felt a bit heavy," she noted, moving to stand behind your chair. Her perfume—a subtle mix of roses and something uniquely her—wafted around you. "Could we dial it back just a touch?"

"Of course."

Your fingers moved across the soundboard with practiced ease, though you were acutely aware of how close she was standing.

"How's this?"

The thunderclap that suddenly rattled the windows made you both jump. Rosé's hand landed on your shoulder, and you felt the warmth of her touch even through your thin sweater.

"That storm's getting serious," she murmured, moving to peer out the window. "I should probably call my driver..."

You watched as she pulled out her phone, her expression growing concerned as she scrolled through messages. "The roads around the studio are flooded. They're advising against driving for the next few hours."

"We're stranded?"

The realization sent a mix of anxiety and something else—something that made your pulse quicken through your body.

Rosé turned back to you, running a hand through her hair. "Looks like it. But hey," she grinned, and there was a playful glint in her eyes that you'd never seen before, "at least we can finish getting this bridge perfect, right?"

"Right. And we have snacks," you said, gesturing to your bag where you kept an emergency stash of cookies and chips.

The thunder rumbled again, closer this time, and the studio lights flickered ominously.

Rosé settled onto the small couch in the corner, tucking her legs beneath her. "You're always prepared, aren't you?" She patted the space beside her. "Come on, we deserve a break. We've been at this for hours."

You hesitated for a moment before joining her, careful to maintain a professional distance. But the couch was small, and your thighs brushed against each other anyway.

"You know," she said softly, accepting a cookie you offered, "I've really enjoyed working with you these past weeks. You understand music in a way most people don't."

"I just love what I do," you replied, trying to ignore how the dim lighting made her eyes sparkle. "And your voice... it's incredible to work with. The way you can convey so much emotion..."

She turned to face you more fully, her knee now pressing against your thigh.

"It's easier to be emotional when the song means something to you. This one..." She paused, biting her lip. "This one is about wanting something you think you can't have."
