Not two hours later, we're backstage and get set up to walk on stage anytime soon. This interview does definitely have the wrong timing. Scarlett is being emotionless still.
Tonight should be about us as the hottest couple in the Entertainment Tonight ranking.
I'm walking circles behind the wall that's keeping Scarlett and I from the stage and audience and I wonder if she feels at least half as nervous about everything.
"...and you won't believe who's going to be my special guests for tonight's entertainment!" the host announces and that's Scarlett and I's cue to get ready. "Please welcome Scarlett and Y/n Johansson!" With that, her and I walk up the stage, holding hands gently.
The crowd cheers and screams, giving the most excited atmosphere I've ever been in. I smile bright and wave, just like Scarlett.
After kisses on each cheek the host invites us to sit on her couch, smiling widely at us.
"It's such a honor to have you two here tonight! How are you feeling?" Nischelle asks, looking in between Scarlett and I.
I give Scarlett a nod and smile, at which she answers first. "Well, it's a pleasure to be here tonight. We're perfectly fine, no dear?" She gives my hand a squeeze, while holding it in her lap.
"Yes, of course we are!" I tell and try to muster some excitement. "Thank you for having us. How are you tonight?" I ask politely.
"This is wonderful! I'm doing amazing and I'm definitely excited! Especially since you're apparently the hottest couple in our newest ranking! How does this feel? Does it change anything in between the both of you?" Nischelle continues, while crossing her legs.
"I honestly didn't even know we were up for the voting, but I appreciate the love people have shown us." Scarlett begins and chuckles, giving a quick wink to the audience and makes them all go wild again. I chuckle.
"It's fascinating how much love and support comes from the people out there and we really appreciate it," I add with a smile and Nischelle nods along.
"This much attention apparently is new to you Y/n, right? How are you holding up with the new circumstances?" She continues, smiling directly at me at which I just chuckle softly.
"Judging from my own feeling, I handle the new attention that is not just on me as a singer, but also on me as Scarlett's wife, pretty well." I glance at Scarlett, who gives me a reassuring nod. "You know, people are creatures of habit... I'd say I got used to all of the fame. It's not like I was no one before."
"Agreed. I'm glad she's mentioning this part, because I feel like people are sometimes going a little rough on Y/n/n for being mine." Scarlett throws in with her low voice, leaving no room to discuss the seriousness of her words.
Nischelle nods in understanding and she looks back at Scarlett, "and there is also my next question answered already. How are you dealing with the differences that come up? Like, we've had a few comments on Y/n that weren't much appreciative of the "sudden" marriage." She air quotes and looks more serious now.
"Asking me, I tried to not pay too much mind on those comments but the ones that were supportive of our marriage." I state honestly and a soft chuckle slips, at which Scarlett smiles proudly, seemingly enjoying my confidence which I didn't know I had right now.
"That's sometimes the best we can do. Isn't there something else in anyone's life to be concerned about?" Scarlett asks rhetorically and chuckles, infecting the crowd with it.
