New won time

After preparing a glass of wine for the two of us, Scarlett and I take seats on the couch in silence, small smiles on both our faces. I don't quite know how to approach the conversation ahead of me.

I let out a sigh, "have I apologized for not telling you about Sarah?" Scarlett shakes her head slightly. "Because I really am sorry I left you in the dark Scar." I pause and play with my fingers in my lap.

"I just didn't know how and the more time passed, the more Rose and you grew onto my heart, the harder it got. I knew it would hurt you." I tell her honestly, not breaking the eye contact that Scarlett and I are holding.

"Well, eventuell you did tell me." She says softly, but doesn't sound quite happier yet. I can definitely understand her and I nod.

"I guess I did." I quietly say and a brief smile appears on my lips. "Since things changed, I couldn't keep the things I've done to myself any longer Scar." I add, exhaling deeply as I know that soon would be the time...

"What things have changed, Y/n?" My internal monolog gets paused by her question.

I take a deep breath and gain the courage to just spit it out. "My feelings towards you."

We both get caught in silence as apparently both out minds run their own wild way. I can't believe I just said it like that. Does this even sound genuine? Oh well, I call this the end.

"Y/n/n..." Scarlett speaks up softly, making me look at her again as I anticipate whatever she has got to say now. I sigh in relief as she smiles gently. "...why haven't you told me earlier?"

"I was afraid you wouldn't feel the same." I admit kind of sadly, as I'm still not sure if she does have those feelings for me too.

Scarlett's smile seems to grow slightly, "it's a shame I didn't get to hear that song of yours earlier dear." She pauses and leaves me confused, looking puzzled at her, which makes her soft giggles reappear finally.

"Not just because this song really is a masterpiece, but also because I do like you too. A lot, actually Y/n/n." Scarlett admits with her famous smile, a soft blush coloring her cheeks as she does so. I can't help that big smile of mine spread over my whole face.

"You do?" I still ask in surprise, as I couldn't believe to be given that chance. Scarlett hums as she nods her head in confirmation. "Gosh I must be blessed or something." I let out the breath I held in all along and earn another soft giggle from Scarlett. Yes, I really never want to miss those giggles again. No more hiding.

"Oh Y/n/n, you're something else." She says while smiling her toothy grin.

"I maybe am," I confirm with a soft chuckle, "but I definitely am glad we talked about this. You have no idea how relieved I am to be forgiven." I pause immediately and my eyes widen a little, "am I forgiven?"

"Of course you are." Scarlett tells with a warm chuckle of hers and shakes her head. "I'm just glad you eventually had the courage to tell me and even confessed your feelings in the same breath. You amaze me over and over again, dear." She speaks with so much warmth and honesty in her words, I can't stop smiling like a goofball. Her goofball, I hope.

"I'm glad I do, because I don't plan on stopping to court you. So to say." I say with a playful wink and we both share a soft laughter.

"In fact, you already courted me when you made me agree to this arrangement." She tell as she gives me a wink back, making me weak in my knees and glad I'm currently sitting.

"Oh stop it you." I chuckle as my cheeks are flushed, at which Scarlett laughs softly.

"Do I make you flustered?" She asks in a playful tone and grins. I bite my bottom lip as I try to keep my nerves collected.

"Me? Flustered? How comes?" I act clueless and shake my head frantically as I do so.

"Ooh, just thought." Scarlett plays along and shrugs, carrying that seductive thug smile.

Damn, I really got myself someone there.

The blush spreads over my cheeks, darkening as my mind runs wild silently.

"Why so quiet all a sudden?" She continues to tease me and I can't hold the desperate sigh from slipping my lips.

"Oh well, just enjoying this new won time to spend with you." I counter with a wink, definitely no clue how I mustered that calmness when being so flustered.

Scarlett blushes obviously and gulps as my straight response apparently made her speechless and well, "why so flustered?" I ask in the same teasing tone and smirk.

"Oh hush!" She mutters and her adorable little smirk appears on her lips, before we share a fair laughter since we both got pretty caught.

"You know, I've been thinking to take you out on a proper date." I say, while Scarlett and I decided to cook something small for dinner, since Rose stays at her grandparents' for the weekend. I kind of miss that little sunshine.

"Are you trying to get me all flustered again?" She asks jokingly and I chuckle, as I shake my head.

"I'm trying to make you mine, for real this time." I tell her honestly and I earn a smile of hers I've never seen so full of love before.

"In that case," she steps closer to me and wraps her arms around my neck, "I'd love to go out on a date with you my dear Y/n."

"That's what I hoped." I whisper as we're close to one another and my arms find their way around her waist, pulling her in for a warm and comfortable hug. I never thought we'd give this arrangement a real try.

Especially not after all that I've been saying and thinking before the arrangement started at all. I remember agreeing that inside our private four walls Scarlett and I could just be friends and now I wanting nothing more than to make the 'love' we share on public screens come true. I hope she meant when she told me she'd feel the same. I really do.

Right after dinner, Scarlett and I watched a movie before we got ready to go to bed. In the meantime her and I started to share a bed, as we really got closer in a friend's way already.

Going to bed with her tonight however feels mivh different. It feels like we're going to be something. Something that is real and I'm ready to explore.

"Are you comfy sweetheart?" I ask softly as Scarlett snuggles into my side, wrapping her arm over my stomach as to hold me closer. I hear a raspy hum come from her lips.

"So much." She whispers into our embrace and smiles content as my arm wraps around her body also, holding her safe and sound.

I smile genuinely happy as she presses a tender kiss to my lips, causing me to blush like it was the very first kiss we shared. Now, this was technically truly the first real kiss we shared. "Our first kiss in our new era." She whispers with a sweet little giggle, before nuzzling her head back onto my chest.

"True true." I let out a soft chuckle and smile happily, enjoying this moment so much more than those before already. I'm some lucky one.

"Goodnight dear." Scarlett whispers into the peaceful silence of our dark bedroom.

"Goodnight sweetheart." I whisper also, snuggling my head into hers, closing my eyes.

I'm on a holiday the whole next week, not sure if I'll post Saturday or rather Monday then. :)
