This took way longer than I anticipated. I had to stop so many times because I didn't like the paragraph or I just lost some motivation or I got a headache.... Well anyways enjoy the chapter :D

Lyrics-

Oh, no
No
I just really like your face
You don't have to look so happy
I'm not really into love that you flaunt
In some glittery font
But if that's what you want
Make it snappy
I just feel so out of place
Well, except for when you're near me
When you're gone, I'm like a plant with no root
Or a song that's on mute
Don't you dare call it cute!
You should fear me!
And if the world was perfect, you would've never invaded my space
But since the world's obsessed with saying, "psych!"
Now I like your stupid face
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo doo-doo-doo-doo doo-doo-doo-doo-doo

Grian was wide awake as the sun set, his mind filled with a mix of conflicting thoughts and emotions. He was questioning why he felt so strongly about Scar, when all logic told him that he should hate the boy. He couldn't understand these new emotions and why he felt the need to pursue them when he was convinced that there was nothing to gain from trying. He rolled around in his bed, unable to sleep and haunted by what seemed like impossible feelings. Grian was thinking back to all of the times that he had fought with and screamed at Scar. He was trying to process it all and make sense of it, but the more he thought the more confusing it got. He began to think about the times when Scar had flirted with him, causing him to blush and feel his face heat up. He considered the possibility that he liked being flirted with, though he was still not at all familiar with this feeling.

Grian couldn't stand the thoughts and feelings that were swirling around in his head, so he decided to take action. He slowly got out of bed, making sure not to disturb his mother, who likely was asleep. He went to the bathroom and turned on the light, hoping to wash away the thoughts and emotions that were clogging up his brain. When he looked in the mirror, he saw his face was beet red and a smile played upon his lips. How funny, how ironic that the boy he was trying to forget was causing him so much joy to think about.

Grian was washing his face when Pearl suddenly walked in, making him slightly jump. "Oh, hey Pearl. Did I wake you?" He said, trying to sound casual and not give away the fact that he was having an intense internal struggle. She rubbed her eyes as she walked into the washroom and then turned back to him, asking with concern, "How about you? What are you doing?" "What's going on with you, Grian?" Pearl asked, looking at his reddened face and placing her hand on his forehead, trying to feel for any signs of illness or fever. Grian brushed her hand away and tried to look away from her, though he was aware that it was futile. "I'm fine honestly...I'm not sick or anything..." He mumbled in response to her concern and attempted to wave the concerns away with dismissive gestures. When Grian continued to try and conceal any emotions, she continued to press him, wondering why he wasn't giving her a straight answer. She took a step closer, and Grian found it increasingly challenging to maintain eye contact. "You sure? You seem like you've got something on your mind." She said, sensing that there was more to the situation than he was letting on. Grian caved and admitted that something was wrong, agreeing to follow Pearl to his room where they could talk in privacy. He walked to his room, his mind full of anxious and excited thoughts. He was nervous to share what was going on, but he also knew that there was no other option and that he needed to be open with her.

Grian sat opposite Pearl as they talked, his tone and body language expressing shame and regret for his actions. He confessed that he had punched Scar, which was a significant detail that he had kept to himself. Pearl looked at him, concerned about what had happened and why Grian had chosen to punch him. "Oh...." She said a bit quizzically, before she nodded to him in acknowledgement of his confession, waiting for him to continue. Grian continued explaining the situation. He admitted that he had walked away when Scar was flirting with him, but then Pearl interjected, asking what the difference was, since Scar had always flirted with Grian. Grian went on to reveal that Mumbo had suggested that the weird feelings might be indicative of something deeper.
