As I read the message on Arnav's phone, my heart skipped a beat.. Sheetal's name flashing on the screen filled me with a surge of mixed emotions - confusion, jealousy, and a gnawing sense of insecurity.. Even though Arnav and I decided to give our relationship another chance, seeing Sheetal's name made me anxious.. I wondered why she kept calling him urgently...
My hands trembled as I tried to understand what it meant.. Instead of confronting Arnav right away, I tried to focus on the good times we had shared earlier.. I wanted to believe our love could overcome anything, but deep inside, I felt worried about what Sheetal's calls meant.. Why is he still in touch with her, and how would it affect us? With a heavy sigh, I whispered to myself, 'I thought we were finally finding our way back to each other... Why does Sheetal have to come between us now?..'
Taking a small and nervous step, I reached Arnav's room.. He was fixing his hair Infront of the dressing table.. he smiled at me and I gave him his phone.. He looked at me with concern; he cupped my face and said with a soft voice, 'You look worried, Are you ok?..I mean after last night..'
'I am fine Arnav, just little tires..' I said forcing a smile in my face, I cant ignore the fact that my mood relax a bit realizing after so many years he still understands me and cares for me the way he used to do..
'I will be back soon, ok.. You take rest..' Saying that he kissed my forehead just like a husband does before going to work..Oh gosh, my heart was swelling with emotion..
Though earlier I was determined not to ask anything I couldn't hold myself from asking.. As Arnav left the room, I couldn't shake off the weight of unease gnawing at me...I needed answers and I thought communication is the key, If I want him in my life there should be transparency..
With a shaky breath, I followed him out of the room, my footsteps hesitant and nervous.. I found him in the kitchen, pouring himself a glass of water.. He looked up, noticing my presence, and his smile softened... ' Hey khushi, What's going on..'
I hesitated for a moment, the words catching in my throat.. Finally, I got the courage to speak.. 'Arnav, I... I saw Aman's messages on your phone.. Why Sheetal is calling you, what she wants?'
His expression shifted, a flicker of surprise crossing his features before he composed himself. 'Oh, Sheetal,..' he said, his tone casual yet guarded..
I nodded, trying to mask the turmoil churning inside me.. 'Why is she calling you urgently?' I pressed, unable to suppress the urgency in my voice..
Arnav sighed, setting down his glass of water.. 'It's nothing, really.. Her company is trying to do a deal with us, that's why..'
A wave of relief washed over me, mingled with a pang of guilt for doubting him.. 'I see.. 'I murmured, the tension in my shoulders easing slightly.. 'I just... I couldn't help but feel worried..'
Arnav stepped closer and cupped my cheek.. 'Hey, you don't have to worry about Sheetal or anyone or anything.. You're the one I love, the one I want to be with..' he reassured me, his eyes searching mine for understanding..
I nodded, feeling a glimmer of reassurance in his words but still I was not able to remove all the doubts from my mind, I wanted to know the full story of him and Sheetal, was he really in a relationship with her after we broke up, what happened after that, I wanted to ask so many questions but I didn't want to ruin the rebounded bond between us.. I wanted to let the past go.. As Arnav pulled me into his arms, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Sheetal's calls than he was letting on.. But for now, I buried my doubts, clinging to the fragile hope that our love could withstand whatever challenges lay ahead..
Breaking the hug, I told him.. 'Arnav wait, I will also come to the office..'
'Baby no..' He said hurriedly, 'I want you to take the day off please, I insists and I will be back soon..ok?'
