I raised my abled arm above my eyes in attempt of avoiding the harsh snow. My horse pushed through the wind as Micah and I rode up a hill.

Micah.... he was a difficult man. I didn't much like him, but I can't say anyone did. He was a very bigoted man. A philistine with low tolerance and a short temper.

He hadn't been riding with us for long, but even then, he was hard to stand. He had left a bad impression amongst most even with the little time he shared with us.

"You seem quiet back there, Rose." Micah snarked with a grin you could see even through the dark and wind.

"It's Rosa." I corrected him with a sigh. "And i'm just thinking about Sean." I shook my head with worry. "We shouldn't have left him."

"Oh, he'll be fine. They'll all be fine!" Micah yelled. "You need to stop worrying about everything." He scoffed.

I turned to him. "You know, you are deranged in every way imaginable."

"Those are big words for a woman who can't read not a word of english." Micah laughed. I felt like shooting him right there and then. He managed to make me angry in ways I never felt. His very presence annoyed me.

"At least I can read at all." I whispered under my breath in hopes he'd hear.

But he didn't. Instead there was a silence. The silence didn't last long seeing as Micah couldn't keep his mouth shut.

"This has gotta be some joke, making me come out here with you." He scoffed. "Why didn't you go with John?"

"Please." I scoffed with a smile. "You think I had a choice? I was told by Dutch to come with you. I wanted to join John..." I shook my head. "I wonder what that man has got himself into."

"Oh, he'll be fine." Micah said. "Hold on..." He slowed as we approached the end of the snow covered hill. "I think I see light."

"You sure it's not your eyes playing tricks on you, old man?" I mocked with a smile. Micah just rolled his eyes. "Oh, shut up."

I looked down the hill. There was light. It seemed to be a small cabin.

I took my binoculars out to get a closer look. This allowed me to see that it was a homestead. You could hear the drunken yells even from so far away. I turned to Micah. "They seem to be having fun."

"Yup..." He put his binoculars away. "Sounds like a party."

I nodded, now putting my binoculars away too. "It looks like a whole lot of men. Won't be easy driving them away..."

"Yeah." Micah nodded with a tug on his horse. "We'll find the rest of the gang and tell them about this. Dutch'll know what to do." He looked to me. "For now we should get going."

"Right." I agreed.

We began traveling South, in search of the rest of the gang. It was so difficult to see that harsh winter night. Looking back at it now, I don't know how we managed to stay so put together. It was probably Dutch...

He really was an admirable man.

"Is that light?" I questioned as I noticed the snow in the wind become visible.

"Seems so." Micah nodded.

"You two up ahead!" I heard Dutches voice, then suddenly his light came into view. "Who's there?"
