"You're not coming, Abigail." Sadie said firmly.

We were at the docks, getting ready to go save John. We waited for Arthur to get here.

"He is my husband." Abigail said and Sadie sighed. "We know he's your husband, but it's far too dangerous."

"I could handle myself." Abigail said and I replied. "There's no doubt you can handle yourself just fine. But if something were to happen to you? I would never forgive myself. You have a son. That boy you have will not be orphaned. You understand?"

God, I sound like Arthur.

"But-" She started and I interrupted her. "No buts. Do it for Jack."

"A- Alright, Rosa." Abigail nodded and Sadie gave me a little chuckle. "I'm surprised you calmed her down."

"Y'all ready?" Arthur came into view. He dismounted his horse and I nodded. "Just about."

"Alright, let's go save this dumb bastard." Arthur boarded the docks and I nodded. "Alright," I looked over at Abigail. "You go back to camp where it's safe."

"Okay." She agreed and I boarded the boat along with Arthur and Sadie.

"I ain't really much the crying sort, but thank you all for doing this. I- I really appreciate it." Abigail said as we began departing. Sadie nodded. "We know, Abigail."

"How's that new scar, killer?" Arthur asked as he rowed and I answered sarcastically. "Fantastic."

"You know, you being sarcastic reminds me of when you was seventeen." Arthur told me and Sadie laughed. "Oh, really?"

"You got that from Marston." Arthur said and I laughed a little. "Well, neither you or him were good influences."

"I guess." He chuckled.

"So... what's the plan exactly?" I asked and Sadie cleared her throat. "We take out the guards and snatch him from his work detail. We'll just get somewhere high to spot him, my guess is the watchtower. It's as easy as that."

So, that's what we did. We went out to the fields and took out the guards. Only, John wasn't there.

Sadie had knocked over a guard and put a gun to his head. "You, mister... you know John Marston?" Sadie asked.

Another guard approached her with a rifle. "Put the gun down, lady."

I raised my gun up to him and Arthur did the same. "No, you put the gun down."

He placed his gun down and Arthur placed him in a chokehold. I walked over to Sadie and nodded. "You alright?"

"Yeah." Sadie put her gun back in her holster.

"Where's John Marston?" Arthur asked the officer and he stuttered. "He- He ain't the work detail today."

"Okay, I guess we'll go get him together."

We walked over to the prison slowly. Arthur had kept the officer in a chokehold for the time being.

When we got there, Arthur started counting down. He made the officer count down with him.

"Hey, Milliken, don't stop counting. I can't hear you." Arthur said and the officer cried. "Hurry up and bring that asshole out here you bastards!"

"Don't cry, buddy." Arthur told him and he just sobbed. "But I don't wanna die."

There's nothing like a person begging for their life to make you feel like the worst person on earth.
