this chapter is pretty mind-blowing😉

I fixed up two cups of coffee. One for me and one for Sadie. I walked over to my tent when I saw Arthur walking up and about. He greeted me. "How you doing?"

"I'm well. It's nice to see you back on your feet." I smiled and he chuckled. "I owe you one, kid. For taking care of me."

"Anytime, Arthur." I said as he walked past me. I looked at Jack who was reading. "Morning, Jackie."

"Hey, aunt Rosa." He smiled.

Everything had been perfect recently. It felt like our luck had finally turned around.

"Morning, Sadie." I approached Sadie who was sitting down on my sleeping bag. I sat down handing her the coffee and she smiled. "Mornin'."

"How are you?" I asked. She smiled and gave me a kiss on the lips. "I'm good. How are you?"

"Great." I kissed her again. We pulled away and Sadie smiled at me. "You got any plans for today?"

"No." I sighed. "I robbed a stagecoach with Charles last night, we ended up getting into a big ol' shootout so..." I took a sip of coffee. "i'm pretty tired."

"Well aren't you a hard worker?" Sadie told me.

"Mhm." I hummed. "And I see you have made yourself comfortable." I joked and she laughed. "Oh, shut up. Yesterday, I did some huntin'. So that stew you'll be enjoying tonight, that's because of me."

"I'll be sure to remember." I smiled at her. I admired Sadie's face.

"Everything's been real quiet lately." Sadie took a sip of coffee and I nodded. "I know. I'm relieved." I sighed. "I feel like everything's finally back to normal. Well," I rested my head on Sadie's. "better than normal."

Sadie chuckled softly.

I knew deep down that Sadie would give all of this up for one more day with Jake. I could never fill her husbands shoes, but I didn't even care. Loving Sadie was worth it. I didn't even require her to love me back.

"Hey, Rosa." Sean came up to us. "Sadie." He greeted.

"What's going on?" I lifted my head.

"Well, i'm supposed to meet Micah and Bill in town. We're having a little get together with those Gray boys. Want to tag along?"

"Micah and Bill?" I scoffed. "Sounds like a nightmare." I drank some coffee.

"Exactly!" He kicked my boot lightly. "C'mon, i'll pay for your drinks. I tried to get Lenny to come, but the bastard said no."

"I wonder why." I stood up dumping out the rest of my coffee. "I'll go."

"Alright!" He grabbed me by my shoulders. I looked down at Sadie. "Wanna come?"

"No, thanks." She chuckled. "I would rather blow my own brains out than deal with those two morons."

"Alright, i'll see you in a bit then." I kneeled down and gave her a kiss.

"Bye." She smiled and I walked away with Sean. "So, what exactly are we meeting with them for?" I dropped my cup by the pot.

"Micah said something about security." Sean said and I nodded. "I don't know why yall are meddling with these people."
