Chapter 9 | Jake's Past

Jake.

Dead air. All there is sounds of kids screaming
and waves crashing. What do i say? I have nothing to say. All i wanted to say was to have Shawn back off. He liked Jenn a lot. I could tell. Although these girls here are pretty cute. One spotted me looking at her. She had brown long hair and a perfect body we winked at each other and looked away.

"Well i think im gonna get going" Matt finally broke the silence.

"Yeah same" Shawn agreed.

We all got up and got our things. Me and Jenn went in my car and put our stuff down.

"That was fun!" She smiled.

"Yeah" i didnt show much emotion.

I was paying attention to the road more.

"You didnt have fun?" She noticed.

"Yeah but it was a little awkward" I admit.

"Yeah well your my first boyfriend and its always a little awkward meeting someone"

"Yeah" i agree.

We didnt talk much the rest of the way home. She was manly on her phone while I was driving.

"Hey honey how did it go?" My mom asked as i walk in the kitchen.

"Good" i grab a apple from the bowl.

"Well Jenn seems great. I hope you dont get tired of her like all the other girls" she sighs.

"Have you even told her about the others?" She asked.

"I told her I had one" i admit.

She sighs.

I believe Jenn is an amazing girl and i dont want to lose her like everyone else. But I just get tired of girls so quick. I finish up my apple and throw the core away. I run upstairs and take a shower so all the sand and sea salt is gone.

Jenn.

I walked in my house and my parents just said 'hi' and went on with their day. They were probably happy I wasn't here blasting music.

I head to my room and took a quick shower. I put my hair up and put on some shorts and a tank. I head on my laptop and notice Andrea has been trying to FaceTime me. I open up FaceTime and call her.

"DUDE?!" She screams.

"Yes?"

"Matt just told me about your boy toy!"

"First, dont say that second, what did he say?"

"He told me how he is your neighbor, what happened today, and how he wants you and Shawn to date" she covered her mouth after she realized what she said.

"Wait he doesnt like Jake?" I said kind upset.

"To be honest...none of us do" she said.

"You haven't even met him"

"What i heard sounded like he is boring and doesnt like Shawn"

"Thats only because Shawn likes me"

"We think he might be bit of a player Jenn"

"Why do you think that?" I asked.

"Matt noticed him looking at other girls while you guys were on your phones. He even saw him wink at one"

That hurt. I mean it wasn't like he kissed another girl but he was checking them out. Matt wouldn't lie like that. I was looking down at my hair band on my wrist not saying anything.

"What are you gonna do?"

"Confront him"

I needed to. I cant let this slide.

"Good. Well i have to go bye"

I said 'bye' and closed my laptop. I went under my sheets and tried to fall asleep. 30 minutes later I did.
