Chapter 12 | Birthday?

Jenn.

Jake: Jenn pls. We need to talk. I dont want things to end this way pls.

Jake: Jenn?

Jake: ....

Jake: come on give me at least an emoji!

I was considering to give a broken heart emoji, than something to show 3 bffs, and food and me happy again. Pretty much to describe that night but I wasnt giving him anything. Instead I grabbed my camera and went back to my spot. The sun was fully up ready for the day.

Once i got there I took pictures for an hour. Pictures of birds, the sky, nature, anything that caught my eye.

"Hey camera lady the good stuff is over here!"

I turn around and see a Shawn posing for the camera. I start taking pictures and laughing as he makes different poses. We stop after a couple pictures.

"So what brings you here mr Mendes?"

"I was actually looking for you" he smiled.

"Why?"

"Well your birthday is in 3 days and i wonder what you want to do"

Oh right. Im gonna be 18 on Sunday. My parents usually say something a week or 2 ahead but this year they didn't. Im usually not a big birthday girl like parties. I usually have cake, pizza, and watch Pitch Perfect. This year I kinda wanted that but more like a party but its a little late now. Guess ill stick to my usual.

"Pizza and Pitch Perfect?" I suggest.

"How about sushi and Pitch Perfect 2?"

"Ive seen the second 1 2 times already" I laugh.

"Ok sushi and will see how we feel from there?"

"Sounds great!"

"Oh sweetie there you are!" My mom said getting up from the couch.

I close the door behind me.

"Whats up mom?" I ask.

"Me and your father are gonna be gone on Sunday till Friday"

"Why?"

"Your dad got invited by his boss to go on a boat and go to his beach house! Were hopping he will get promoted!" She says excited.

"Thats great!" I ignore the fact about my birthday is getting missed.

They're gonna miss my 18th birthday? They never miss my birthday. Did they even remember? Well i should be happy that dad might get promoted. Well might. His boss is nice but is picky on giving promotions.

Arden: girl your already almost 18! Last month it felt like we were just stupid 7 year olds

Me: ikr! Also dont forget to make me your amazing double chocolate cake. Ill eat that no matter how healthy I am ;)

I was getting texts from everyone all of the sudden. It was so weird one after the other. It was a little weird but im glad everyone cared. Friends and family kept texting me their birthday wishes. I felt so loved and grateful. Im actually happy that me and Shawn are gonna spend my birthday together. Now I want it to be Sunday.
