Chapter 31 | Its Okay To Cry

Its been a week and I finally finished my art project. It is 2 pixel characters looking at each other with heart eyes. At the top it has 4 1/2 hearts and says, "Looking at you makes me regen" Its very geeky and adokable. I, of course, get 15 minutes early. This time Daniel was only 10 minutes early. He looked at me for a second then sat down and put his art on the easel.

We stayed quiet. I was gonna offer to see each others but i had a feeling he was already gonna say no. The bell rings and everyone comes. A couple minutes later Mrs. Martin comes in and puts an easel next to her.

"Today im gonna chose some of you to show youre art....lets start with.." She looks at everyone then stops at Daniel.

"Mr. Marsh" she steps back and looks at me while Daniel puts his work on the easel.

Everything was black and white except there was a red broken heart in the middle. There was a boy crying on the floor at the bottom left corner. I already knew what it was about before i read the text next to the boy. "It hurts more than i thought"

"Its about a young boy..who liked this girl. To get into more detail he only knew this girl for a little bit but extremely liked her. She rejected him and he thought...everything..would be alright.......but it just hurt...so much...--"

"Mr. Marsh go step outside for a bit" Mrs. Martin says.

He walks out trying not to ball out cry in front of everyone. I looked down feeling bad then looked at the teacher, then the door, then the teacher. She knew what i meant and nodded.

I walk out and close the door behind me. I see Daniel siting on the floor, leaning against the wall, crying in his hands. I walk over slowly to him.

"Daniel?"

"Why.."

"Why what?" I sit next to him.

"Does it hurt so much?" He uncovers his eyes and looks at me.

His eyes were all watery and red.

"It always hurts...even if the person was a huge jerk" i look down.

It of course hurt me with Jake even during the times i was completely over him.

"I cant do this to you..."

"What do you mean Daniel?"

"Im making you feel bad! For you being honest and going for the guy you truly like"

"Its ok to be sad and cry" i rub is harm.

He slowly goes in for a hug and i hug him. He cries on my shoulder and keeps saying the words, 'im sorry' i pat his back.

"You have nothing to be sorry for" we stop hugging and i put my hands on his shoulders.

"Youre gonna feel sad and depressed. But know im not gonna be the only girl you like. Youre gonna meet someone probably 10x better than me and fall in love"

"Thank you Jenn...but no one is better than you. I mean youre here while im crying about you, helping me. Probably ever other girl would be too awkward to do this" he chuckles.

I smile and look down. Mrs. Martin comes out and sees us sitting on the floor with Daniel having red eyes and tear marks on his face, with a runny nose.

"You two can leave early" she says.

"Thank you" I say as we both get up.

"By the way...you both got an A" she smiles.

I open my dorm room door and see Crystal super happy when she looks at me. I set down my stuff and look at her.

"Someones happy" i laugh.

"The new guy is so cute, funny, and he has blonde hair--"

Crystal gets interrupted by a knock on the door. I go over to the door and open it. Right in front of me is Shawn and the one and only Matt! Im frozen in happiness. Im smiling super big and cant get a word out. Crystal comes over behind me.

"Oh he looks like that" she points to matt.

"MATT!!!!" I give him a hug.

"Damn someone missed me" he laughs.

"YOU HAVE NO IDEA!" We stop hugging and walk in the room.

"So you guys must know each other" crystal laughs.

"This is the Matt remember"

"OMG! This is him!" Matt is confused.

"The one you said he seems like your ty--" crystal covers my mouth and smiles at Matt.

I lick her hand and she pulls away.

"GROSS!"

"Sorry" i laughed.

Crystal wipes off my saliva and puts on hand sanitizer.

"Wow. So you guys go to the same class, were all friends, you are staying here, THIS IS AMAZING"

"How did you even get in during this time?" Shawn asked.

"My dad" Matt answers.

"Ohhh" me and Shawn both say.

Matts dad is really good at convincing people. Matt has a little of that in him but mainly he has his moms genes. We all just talk and have a blast. Matt and Crystal seem to click very well which makes me and Shawn happy.

"Well better head back to our dorms" Matt says as we all get up.

"Yeah its getting really late"

"Bye guys" Shawn says and gives me a kiss on the cheek.

"Bye Crystal" Matt says while waving.

"See you in class" she says.

The boys walk out and I look at Crystal.

"What?" She asks.

"So you like Matt???"

"Is that noticeable?"

"Well you kinda looked at him most of the time" i laugh.

"He is just..."

"The sweetest person ever?"

"That, funny, smart, cute, caring, i just met him and all i got was great vibes and it helps because you guys are bffs so i know he isnt secretly a jerk"

"Maybe he likes you"

"Will you ask him?"

"Of course"

"Thank you!" She hugs me.

I wasnt nervous to ask Matt. They seemed good together and seem like they both like each other. Matt hasnt liked a girl sense Freshmen year. Her name was Alexa Bardon. She was a sweet girl and popular. She had blonde hair and blue eyes and always wore skirts with high tops. She was also incredibly smart. He asked her to the dance but sadly she already had a date. Her date was Jackson Stevens. He was a football player and popular as well. I never really knew him but he seemed nice too. After the dance they kept dating and Matt eventually moved on.

But now I think Matt likes Crystal and Crystal likes him so this might be his first girlfriend. Surprising how no girls wanted to date him.
