"Oh my god! You will never guess what happened today!" I half yell as I turn my key in the front door of my flat. There's a beat of silence as I step over the threshold and into our flat, letting the door fall to close behind me, just as Jenny's perfect angel face pops almost sideways out of her room, further down the door frame than I'd expected. When I drop my bags in the doorway of my room I realise that she's sat on her desk chair as she looks at me, waiting for more information.

"What?" She asks, giddy with the excitement of potential gossip. I can't focus though, looking around for signs of Richard who seems to have taken quite nicely to our flat, or more specifically, my flatmate. Our flat is still warm but I can tell her window is open, a soft breeze coming through the flat to brush against my skin as I roll my eyes and push her chair back into her room, confident that he's not here for what feels like the first time in days.

"Guess!" I urge her as I fall onto her bed, still feeling as though I am on cloud nine as I let out another sigh of disbelief and fall backwards onto her bed. There's an unusual silence from Jenny and when I pull myself up on my shoulders to stare at her, I see she is now frowning at me, clearly not enjoying this game as much as I am. "Come on!"

"I'm quite clearly never going to guess this!" She hisses out in frustration, her hatred of not knowing things coming out to play as she got the feeling that she was losing. "Gigi! Tell me!"

"I met... Lewis Hamilton!" I tell her, my eyes wide. I watch with satisfaction as my gossip hits the spot with her, and her eyes bug out of her head for a moment, looking at me in pure shock.

"The driver? He's a driver right?" She clarifies. Even when I nod to confirm she's on the right track, her expression doesn't change. I sit up and pull my hair into a bun as her mouth opens and closes without any words, her brain malfunctioning from having too many questions to ask and not knowing what order to put them in.

"Turns out that Kaiden, the sweet kid I saved the cupcakes for?" I remind her and she nods slowly. "Yeah, he's his uncle! Today he came in and did a surprise show and tell of their 'family trip' to Italy and the race. He brought lots of kit, pictures and stories... talked the kids through how the steering wheel works..." I tell her, my hands animated as generally just motion about the air, trying to make sure she understands how random this was and it seems we're on the same page as she still looks shell shocked. "It was crazy!"

Again, I know for a fact that she doesn't like F1, or dislike it, but that doesn't matter in this scenario. This was a real life run in with a bonafide famous person, a superstar. These things don't happen everyday and they definitely don't happen to me.

"As in the knighted one? Who is like a model and stuff?" She triple checks and I nod slowly, eyes wide as I bite down on my lip before a second later we're both letting out girlish screams. "Oh my God! Just this morning you asked if your life is boring and the universe instantly rewards you with some fun!" She says amazed as she falls onto the bed next to me. The numbers running down her many screens were long forgotten as she looks at me with her full attention, waiting for some more gossip, although alas my story is over.

"Well, I wouldn't say I was rewarded with fun. He came, chatted to the kids and then he left, Jenny... but either way! What a crazy day and a fun story!" I tell her, giggling as I stand up as I shake my head at the memory and get up from her bed. It was still too hot in London and so I was sweating, I make a mental note to myself to stop dressing for cold weather when it still hasn't arrived yet. I thought I'd leave her to handle whatever work she had left but it seems that she has a very different opinion as she follows me out of her room to the kitchen where I grab a glass of water.

"He chatted to the kids and left? You didn't even get a flirty sentence in? The man is a millionaire - maybe even a billionaire and you let him walk away without so much as a wink?!" She is almost yelling with exasperation and I can't help but laugh at her as I pass her a glass as well.
