Okay. I totally understand - I should have messaged you before I got back...

If you do have time, I really would love to take you out though!

Yeah... honestly I'm not sure...

Was it the radio silence?

Ah, so you noticed it too

I don't really have a defence do I?

I can't make that call...

Can I make a call?

Gigi?

Incoming Call from Unknown Number

"You picked up," are the first words that follow the relieved sigh as I accept the call and press the phone to my ear. There's something about the audible relief in his voice that brings a smile to my face as I sit in front of my mirror and try to continue finishing my makeup.

"I did," I concede, aware that the smile on my face can be heard in my voice. I can't help it, the messages over the last two days had been accompanied by a follow request on Instagram after he'd searched for me there - two hours it took him according to the message that remained unanswered on my favourite social media platform. The request also remained unanswered although I was fairly confident it would be safe to accept given it was from a private account and there was no reason for anyone else to try and impersonate being Lewis to me. It had also been accompanied this morning by a basket of pastries that were delivered to our door, although only the lord knows how he figured that out. "Can I help you?"

"Hearing your sweet voice was help enough," he murmurs back, the distraction in his voice throwing me off as I frown at myself in the mirror and put the makeup down, properly holding the phone to my ear. "Er, I was going to pick up Roscoe because I also have a week off. I was also wondering if you wanted to run a few errands with me and if there was anything you needed to do then I could help with. Because it's half term so if there was anything you wanted to do that I could help with, I want to help?" He suggests and once more, despite knowing that I'm meant to be annoyed, I can't help but give in to the sweet request. Honestly, having a car would be useful today and the way he rambled was very unlike the smooth version of himself I was now semi-used to seeing on the internet.

"I need to be back home by four o'clock because I have a dinner tonight," I warn him and get quick confirmation that it's fine and that he will pick me up within 20 minutes because he's 'in the neighbourhood'.

That quickly sends me into a small tailspin as I try and figure out whether my outfit and hair are okay before deciding that they will both have to do because I don't really have time to change any of it. I go and pull the freshly decorated birthday cake container out of the fridge, careful as I get it ready to transport before also grabbing myself a coat and handbag, the previous warm weather that had existed a month ago had certainly disappeared now and I knew I would need both.

I yelled to Jenny and Michael, letting them know I was out for errands and disappeared without another word as I went to the colder October day that was outside the building just in time to see a G-Wagon pull up. This made the third car that I'd seen him driving and yet, I wasn't even surprised as it came to a standstill near where I was waiting. Before I could begin to move around the car to the passenger side, Lewis had jumped out of the car.
