eden and steven haven't really talked to each other. or made any eye contact.
it was awkward between them and they didn't know what to do to fix it. of course, they both wanted to. but should they, was the question.
eden walked downstairs in a pink, floral sundress. her blonde hair was framing her face and she had a little mascara on.
susannah was getting ready to paint her portrait.
she arrived downstairs and was, of course, met with steven.
she looked up at him, but he didn't look at her. he just walked past her.
"steven." she muttered.
he didn't stop. he just kept walking.
she swallowed and let out a breath before turning around and went outside to see susannah and lily sitting next to her.
"oh, look at my beautiful flower in a dress made of flowers." susannah smiled.
"it's not exactly made of flowers, but yeah." eden replied.
"you know what i mean, eden." susannah tilted her head.
eden nodded.
"you're gorgeous as always, edes." lily complimented.
"thanks." eden murmured. "where do you want me to sit, mom?"
"i actually want you to stand." susannah replied.
eden furrowed her eyebrows. "huh?"
"like this."
susannah stood up and went over to her daughter.
she placed her hands behind her back and tilted her head so her side profile was facing where susannah was sitting.
"okay, perfect."
susannah sat down and began painting her daughter and lily smiled as she watched.
lily then started talking and eden mostly listened cause she couldn't move while susannah was paining her.
after about an hour, susannah was done and let eden and lily go on their own to talk.

"do you want me to talk to jace?" lily asked after eden explained what happened between her and steven.
"no, no, no. don't do that. that'll only make things worse." eden replied. "besides, he won't listen. he hates me. i just wish i wasn't an idiot."
"you're not an idiot, edes. you just have a lot on your plate right now and there's a lot going on. this summer has been crazy. but it'll be okay, you and steven will work things out. i promise." lily replied.
"thanks, lils. i'm just happy that we're on a team for the volleyball tournament and not steven and i. he's on shayla's team 'cause her boyfriend can't make it." eden said.
"about that...i'm on shayla's team now." lily informed.
"what?" eden's furrowed her eyebrows.
lily jumped up and ran to the door.
"sorry not sorry! oh and taylor's coming, so you better make amends with her! okay! bye!"
she then ran out of the door and eden lied back on her bed and let out a groan.
this was going to be just...great.

short chapter but i didn't wanna put all of this plus the volleyball episode into one whole chapter, so i'm deciding to split it up. i just don't want it to be super long.
