𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭

after saying goodbye to julia and skye, then making sure laurel got to the motel okay, steven, jeremiah, and eden went back inside.

"do you know how long that's been sitting out?" jeremiah asked as steven took a piece of bacon and bit it.

he looked at jere and took another crunch.

jeremiah picked up a piece and bit it.

"that's hours old, you guys are gonna get sick." eden cringed.

"sorry that we have stomachs of champions, eden." jeremiah teased.

"yeah, not all of us wake up in the morning and throw up." steven added, causing him and jeremiah to laugh.

"it was one time and i was really hungover. that party killed me." eden shook her head.

"i'm too exhausted to eat." conrad said when he walked into the kitchen.

"oh, uh, steven and i have to tell you two something." eden said and conrad slid onto the counter and lied back.

he sighed heavily. "oh great."

"no, it's not bad." eden shook her head.

"what? are you guys getting married?" jeremiah raised his eyebrows.

"what? no—."

"yes. we're engaged." steven joked and draped his arm around her shoulder.

"get off." she grumbled and shoved him off of her. "we're not engaged. i'm gonna spend my summer in PA this year with steven, bells, and laurel. don't worry, it was laurel approved and dad most likely won't care, so, that's we're i'll be."

"that's awesome, edes." jeremiah smiled.

"yeah, you guys will have fun." conrad nodded.

eden smiled and belly walked into the room.

"alright. come on, it's time to start studying, you lazy bums." she said.

eden let out a laugh. "yeah, no chance i'm doing that right now. it's bed time."

"okay, i'm tired too, but it's—it's already afternoon. i mean, we have to work all night and leave really early tomorrow." belly explained.

"who invited her again?" steven furrowed his eyebrows with bacon in his mouth.

"i work best under pressure." conrad said.

"please, belly? just one hour?" jeremiah asked.

"fine. one hour, and that is it." belly decided.

jeremiah smiled. "you're an angel."

belly giggled. "hm. now go before i change my mind."

"okay."

"stop eating and let's go." eden said and grabbed steven's hand.

"no, not you! i need your help!" belly exclaimed and grabbed steven's arm.

"no, please don't take him! i need my steve-o cuddles." eden pouted.

"you have all summer for that. now come on, steven!" belly shouted.

steven groaned and gave eden a parting wave before being dragged off by belly.

eden sighed went to find a sleeping bag and an old pillow before trudging into the other room where her brothers were.

she got inside of the sleeping bag and rest her head on the pillow and as soon as she did, she fell asleep.
