belly and jeremiah were talking outside of the jeep while eden was cleaning herself up inside of the car.

finally, the two got back inside of the car.

eden was already in the back seat cleaning herself, so she let belly sit shotgun.

"what were you two yapping about out there?" eden asked as jeremiah started the car.

belly was quiet and stared out of the window.

jeremiah sighed. "conrad went to cousin's, so that's where we're heading."

"cousins? like cousins beach?" eden raised her eyebrows.

"yes, eden. cousins beach." jeremiah nodded.

eden let out a sharp exhale.

"'i dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped-up four-wheel drive!" eden sang.

"carved my name into his leather seeeeaaaaats!" steven added.

"i took a louisville slugger to both headlights!" eden continued.

"slashed a hole in aaall four tires."

"maybe next time he'll think before he cheats!"

eden and steven both laughed as the outro of before he cheats by carrie underwood played.

they were still on their way down to cousins beach.

"damn. who hurt us." eden shook her head.

"nah, i don't think anyone. the song is just lowkey a vibe." steven shrugged.

"true." eden agreed. "i'm just surprised you like country or carrie underwood. or any female artist for that matter. it's all 'drake this' and 'drake that'."

"are you calling me misogynistic?" steven raised his eyebrows.

"no, i'm just pointing out your obsession with drake." she replied.

"oh really? my—my obsession? what about you with miss swift? hm?" steven cocked an eyebrow.

"that's different. i'm just a girl." eden shrugged with a smirk.

"oh and that's not misogynistic?" steven raised his eyebrows and looked at her before looking back at the road.

"no, i don't think that's how misogyny works." she responded.

he just shook his head and smiled.

she smiled back and they kept listening to music as they drove.

eden snapped out of her thoughts when she heard belly turn on the radio as jeremiah drove.

jeremiah cleared his throat and belly immediately turned to look at him.

"did, uh...were you about...were you gonna say something?" belly asked him.

"nope," was all he said.

eden rolled her eyes.

it was so clear her brother didn't want to talk to belly, and eden didn't blame him. after what she did to him and then what she did to his sister just before they left brown.

"okay." belly muttered.

the music continued to play through the uncomfortable silence and the sound of belly's phone going off broke it.

"was that steven?" jeremiah asked.

eden looked up immediately. chills got sent through her spine.

"why didn't you pick up?" jeremiah continued.
