june had been the best month of eden's life.

while laurel was off at the publisher's for her new book she had been working on, steven and eden would take their showers together and have their little sexual encounters here and there.

they went bike riding, he bought her flowers, they watched the sunset together down at the jersey shore, they pet some random people's dogs, she made steven take pictures of her of course, she stole a bunch of his sweaters, they've been out on double dates with ricky and clara, they've been to steven's ice cream place, played video games, they even included laurel in some of their adventures since belly was away at volleyball camp so she wouldn't feel alone (besides for her trips to see cleveland), and overall had a very enjoyable june.

it was nearing the end of the month and steven was having a little fire in the backyard with a fire pit.

he invited ricky and clara along with his friend spike and his girlfriend sarah and jace and lily came to visit so they were there as well.

"wait, guys, could this be considered a quadruple date?" lily asked as they all sat around the fire with a cup of beer in each of their hands.

well, the people who weren't driving had beers in their hands.

"what is it with you and wanting to do dates with other people?" steven questioned.

"oh so you're saying you don't want a quadruple date and that you hate all of your friends?" lily raised her eyebrows.

"why do you turn everything into that? that's not what i meant." steven argued.

"because annoying you is funny." lily shrugged.

eden then came out of the house with clara and jace.

"we have marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, and skewers!" eden informed.

"s'mores! yes, bro!" ricky exclaimed.

"yo, ya girl came in clutch, steve." spike nodded to steven.

"no she didn't, i did! i bought those! this is my house!" steven said.

"you also forgot about them, soooo..." eden trailed off.

"shut up." steven grumbled and eden giggled.

they each grabbed a marshmallow and started toasting them before putting them between the graham crackers with their piece of chocolate.

"bro, s'mores make me cream, bro." spike said.

"ew, you're so gross." sarah cringed.

spike rolled his eyes and continued wolfing down his s'more.

the four couples sat around the fire with their s'mores just talking.

"oh my gosh, let's play manhunt! this backyard is great for it!" clara spoke up.

"yes, that is a perfect idea." eden pointed.

"i love it, let's do it." lily nodded.

"won't we get dirty?" sarah furrowed her eyebrows.

eden looked her up and down. she wasn't sarah's biggest fan. sarah was very superficial and materialistic, but eden ignored it because she was spike's girlfriend and steven was very close to spike.

the other three girls side-eyed each other, then looked back to sarah.

"we'll be fine." clara waved her off.

"let's do it in couples." jace suggested.

"you only wanna do it in couples because you know i'm the best hider and your ass will be the first to be found on your own." lily said.
