Skye
I gasped, shooting up, but I suddenly dropped back down when I saw myself hovering off the ground.
I started gasping, finding myself floating up some stairs, but by the feeling of two arms under me, I shot up, eyes rounding.
It was Sebastian... he was carrying me up the stairs of his house.
But... was it Sebastian?
When I recalled the memory of what felt like minutes ago, I remembered the image of Sebastian smashing me over the head—
I screamed then, struggling to get out of his arms.
He stopped walking and tightened his grip, trying to get me to still. "Skye! Skye!"
I continued fighting, crying out, so desperate for him to let me free.
"Skye!" he said, holding onto me tighter. "Stop! You're going to fall!"
I only continued, entire body freezing cold.
I didn't know if this was the real Sebastian, but... I wanted to leave; my whole body was still rushing with euphoria.
He suddenly fell back, and I screamed, suddenly clutching onto him.
But he just collapsed down onto a stair, holding me to him as I remained in his lap, tears burning my eyes.
He just caught my chin before I could fight again, but I pulled away, trying to climb out from his grip.
He just shoved me against him, and I cried out, but he just caught my chin and forced me to face him.
Tears warmed my eyes, and I struggled again, trying to climb out but he pulled me back.
"Skye, look at me!" he demanded. "Look at me!"
I just shoved against him, trying to pry myself out from his hold.
He just threw my head up, and I screamed again before I parted my lashes...
And saw the golden specks swirling around in his gaze.
My eyes widened.
Se... Sebastian...
"See?" he said, releasing his hold a little as he smiled a little. "It's me."
I just crawled onto him, making him chuckle, and I wrapped my arms around him and held him to me.
He just pulled me against him and snuggled his face into my neck.
"Why... were you carrying me?" I asked him.
He sighed into my hair. "That... guy hit you over the head with his gun, but—luckily—before he did anything, I barged in there and intervened. I then took you to the infirmary and they healed you up all nice."
I pulled closer. "They?"
"Yeah," he replied softly, "I have a stand-by nurse and doctor to come to the infirmary when needed. One that specializes in fallen angels and other magical creatures."
I stared into the distance. "So... I'm okay...?"
"You're alright," he promised.
I closed my eyes tightly and buried myself in his hold, and he just held onto me, smiling; I could feel it.
After holding me for a moment, he pulled back to see my face, and I glanced up at him, slightly dazed.
But after a moment of him staring at me, I parted my mouth, a large yawn exiting my lips, and when it released, I suddenly felt drowsiness cast over me.
Sebastian tucked some hair behind my ear. "Bedtime?"
I nodded numbly.
He just smiled, swinging me up and I yelped, but he just carried me back to my room.

"Sebastian?" I whispered as I lay against his chest, loving the chills sliding through me as he rubbed my back.
"Yes?" he said, voice quiet.
"You were... or your reflection... was going to kill me," I stated silently, feeling cold hand slide across my throat, and I was afraid they would press down and choke me.
He sighed, continuing to rub my back. "He wasn't me."
"Then why did he look like you?" I asked him, gazing up as my eyes burned with tears.
Sebastian leaned further back, those dark eyes settled on me. "Skye... he's not me. Don't you trust me?"
"No," I stated honestly.
He smiled at this—something I wasn't expecting—and he just chuckled. "Yes, you do, you liar."
I gave him a disbelieving look, though he just pushed my head back to his chest.
After he started rubbing my back again, I managed to reply, "He had different eyes."
I felt him glance down at me.
"And his skin tone was darker... like he'd been in the sun," I stated. "And... he's horrifying."
Sebastian just kissed the top of the head, making me close my eyes as I started getting drowsy.
"Sebastian..." I said, "who is he?"
He was silent for a moment. "The less you know," he said, making my lashes lower in irritation, "the better."
I closed my eyes tightly, sighing angrily.
"Now go to sleep," he said. "No more questions."
