Skye
I parted my lashes later that morning, and I breathed softly, somehow relaxed, as Sebastian remained under me, asleep.
Why did he always make it so... easy to sleep? And why was it—whenever he held me—I had no nightmares?
I always thought I was independent... I was wrong.
I watched the snow reflect off the window from outside, covering the room in a beautiful white glow, and I just let myself rest there for a moment, wondering what time it was.
But—after gaining my courage—I pushed my arms against the bed and sat up...
Only to find my arm caught and Sebastian tugged it out from under me.
I yelped when I collapsed back onto his chest.
He just gathered me in his arms, pulling me over him as I sucked in a breath, but he just pressed his lips to my neck, making me close my eyes tightly as he started suckling the skin.
Heat swarmed me, and I buried my face in his neck, unable to move for some reason.
But he just pulled back, breath heating my skin. "More?"
I nodded shyly.
He smiled against me. "I'll give you more if you tell me why you lied to me yesterday."
I groaned in annoyance then, burying myself in his hold.
Ugh... Sebastian. Always had a motive.
He brushed his lips behind my ear, whispering, "Tell me."
My body heated in anger.
I just shoved him away, making him gasp, but I shot off the bed and stormed over to the door.
I heard him sit up on the bed and slide off, clearly about to follow me.
I just shoved open the door and stopped, clenching my jaw as irritation swarmed me, and I spun around, locking eyes with him.
"Who is he?" I demanded.
Sebastian glanced up after brushing off his pants, now standing. "What?"
"The man who looks like you," I said, eyes glowing with anger, "North. Who is he?"
Sebastian sighed, shaking his head. "You can't know."
"That's bullshit and you know it," I hissed. "Is he a shapeshifter?" My eyes darkened. "Or is he you?"
He gave me a look. "Skye."
"I don't know you!" I yelled to him, though he just stood fully, brows arched. "Why did you take me?! Who IS he?!"
Sebastian sighed, shaking his head. "He's dangerous."
"Oh, wow!" I yelled sarcastically. "The most vague answer in the history of answers! Thank you!"
