The next morning, Meredith was woken up by Eddie and Christopher. She groaned and looked at the clock to see it was six in the morning. Christopher pulled himself on to her bed and laid down next to her. She smiled and placed a kiss on his cheek, making his cheeks flush.

"Okay buddy, you can stay over here to make sure Mery gets up, but I'll be back in ten minutes with your things so you can finish getting ready." Eddie said, and Christopher nodded happily.

"Is Dad getting us breakfast?" Meredith asked, making Christopher shrug,"If he's not, I am. I'm starving." She commented, causing Christopher to laugh.

"We need to hurry up so you and the baby don't starve." He replied, making her chuckle.

"Fine, I'm getting up, but you need to move, otherwise I'm crushing you and baby." She said, and he quickly scrambled out of the bed.

Meredith carefully rolled out of bed and headed to her bathroom to pee and brush her teeth. When she came back, she seen Christopher laying on her bed again watching TV. She rolled her eyes playfully and went to her closet to pick out some clothes. Once she had an outfit, she went back to the bathroom to change.

She made sure to wear something Marvel, since she knew how much Christopher liked Marvel, especially Spider-Man

She made sure to wear something Marvel, since she knew how much Christopher liked Marvel, especially Spider-Man. When she came out of the bathroom, right after putting her hair up into a ponytail, she seen Eddie handing Christopher his clothes.

"I guess you two will be matching today." Eddie commented, motioning to Meredith's outfit.

"Yes!" Christopher exclaimed, as he got up to get ready.

"You can just get ready in here," Meredith said,"I'm going to take my vitamins."

Meredith headed out of her room and to the kitchen to take her prenatal vitamins. She gave them time to get ready, before she grabbed her phone and keys. By the time she was ready, so were they.

"You guys wanna use my car?" Meredith asked, and Eddie shrugged.

"Works for us," He replied,"but you've got to pick where you want to eat. Chris said you and the baby are going to starve if we don't stop before his appointment."

Meredith laughed and wrapped her arm around Christopher's shoulders. The group of three headed down the stairs and to Meredith's car. The woman decided to stop at Dunkin' for breakfast, which Christopher was really happy about. After getting some breakfast, they headed to the doctor's office. Christopher sat close to Meredith's side, as Eddie filled out the paperwork.

"Christopher Diaz?" A nurse called out, and Christopher stood up with Eddie and Meredith.

The doctor and Eddie discussed Christopher's progress and his schooling. Meredith sat quietly with Christopher, since she really didn't have anything to put into the conversation. After a few minutes, the doctor started to work with Christopher. She started with blood pressure and other things like that.

"You've grown two inches since the last time you were here." The doctor told Christopher, and the little boy smiled.

"That's good, right?" Eddie asked, causing the doctor to nod.

"Yes, he's progressing at a good rate," The doctor replied,"We'll need to do some blood work today."

Christopher shifted uncomfortably, and Meredith gave him an encouraging smile.

"Shots, too?" Christopher asked, and the doctor smiled sympathetically.

"Only one," She replied,"but I promise, once you're done, you'll get your free ice cream."

The doctor soon left the room, and went to get everything she needed for his blood work and his shot. When the doctor came back, she placed all of her things on the counter top beside her.

"You ready, Christopher?" She asked, and Christopher scooted closer to Meredith and nodded.

The doctor began to put the blue tie on his arm, and Meredith gave his other arm a gentle squeeze. Christopher flinched when the needle was put in his arm, but he didn't cry or scream. Eddie really felt proud of his son, since not even a tear left the little boy's eye. Once the doctor was finished with his blood, she grabbed the shot and used the same arm, so he wouldn't have to move from Meredith.

"You did good today," The doctor commented,"What made you so brave?" She asked, and Christopher smiled slightly.

"I had to be brave for the baby." He replied, causing the doctor to look at him confused.

"My sister," Eddie motioned to Meredith,"She's pregnant. Chris wanted her to come today, so he could show her and the baby that he's brave." He explained, and the doctor smiled.

"That's so sweet, Christopher," The doctor complimented,"You're going to be a wonderful cousin. You'll teach the baby to be so brave and selfless like yourself. You really are a wonderful boy."

Christopher blushed, and the adults laughed. The doctor handed Christopher his piece of paper that would get him free ice cream at the ice cream shop next to the doctor's office. Apparently the doctor's adopted daughter owned the shop, and she had come up with the free ice cream idea for the children at the office. The doctor also handed one to Meredith.

"Oh, I can't take this. You should keep it for another kid." She said, but the doctor simply shook her head with a smile.

"It's my gift to you. You're going to be a new mother." The doctor replied, and Meredith thanked her with a happy smile.

Once Eddie got Christopher checked out, they headed outside the doctor's office. He brought them straight to the ice cream shop.

"Might as well get you both your ice cream now, before you bother me about it later." He joked, and Meredith jokingly glared at him.

Meredith happily ate her ice cream with Christopher. Eddie bought himself some, since he didn't feel like being the only one without ice cream. The three were truly enjoying their time together, and that's all that really mattered, even if Meredith was eating something that wasn't very healthy...
