The day after Meredith's appointment, Buck took a day off work to take care of her. He didn't want her by herself when she was sick, because anything could happen, and he would feel responsible if it did. He really didn't want to take a chance of anything bad happening to her or the baby.

Since Meredith was told to get plenty of rest and not do anything strenuous, Buck wouldn't let her leave her bed, unless she was going to the bathroom or going to lay out on the couch. Meredith was a little irked by his demands a few times, but she understood where he was coming from and why he was doing what he was doing.

"What do you want for lunch?" Buck asked, as he held Meredith against his side.

The two were laying in her bed watching Ghost Adventures, while Meredith relaxed in her bed. Every couple of hours, Buck would check her temperature and BP to make sure it was staying at a normal, constant rate. Meredith was annoyed by it, but she was grateful he cared so much.

"Whatever you want is fine with me." Meredith replied, causing him to chuckle.

"I guess we're having sandwiches and fruit for lunch." He commented, and she simply shrugged her shoulders.

Buck left the room and went to the kitchen to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with strawberries and cantaloupe on the side. Meredith loved peanut butter and jelly. He also made a sweetened cream cheese dip for the fruit, since she seemed to crave cream cheese often. Once the sandwiches were ready, he brought them into the bedroom so they could eat. If she got crumbs in her bed, he'd clean it up later for her.

"Did you put barbecue chips on mine?" Meredith asked, causing Buck to chuckle.

"You know I did." He replied, and she grinned.

"Thank you, Buck." She murmured, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

The two ate their food in somewhat silence, mostly because Meredith was watching her show, and she just loved Zak Bagans. She wished that one day she'd get to meet him like she did with so many other people that she loved.

"We've got to buy a haunted house." Meredith said, causing Buck to scoff.

"Why? You'd rather have Zak around, instead of doctor Buck?" Buck asked, and Meredith rolled her eyes.

"I just want to meet him," She replied,"You know I like you way more than anyone else, doctor Buck."

Buck gave her a smile, as he grabbed their empty plates and carried them to the kitchen. He then went back to the bedroom and laid down next to her. She turned to him and laid her head down on his chest, and he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.  Their hands laid intertwined on Meredith's belly, which was bigger than when they had first met.

As they were laying there watching the show, Buck felt something touch his hand. His eyebrows furrowed for a moment, before he realized what it was. Quickly, he looked down at Meredith's belly and placed his hand flat against her belly. Meredith smiled lightly, as she watched Buck mess with her belly. She could feel the baby moving, so when the baby kicked against Buck's hand, she watched as a huge smile appeared on his face.

"I-I felt the baby kick." Buck said, seeming almost shell-shocked by what happened.

Buck kept a big smile on his face the entire rest of the day, and while they relaxed on Meredith's bed, he kept his hand on her belly. He absent-mindedly rubbed her belly while he laid next to her. Every so often, he'd feel the baby move slightly, and the movement would make his heart race.

When Christopher and Eddie came by later that night to check on Meredith, all Buck could talk about was the baby. He told Eddie all about how the baby kicked his hand, and would react to his touch when he was rubbing her belly. Eddie had a smile on his face while he listened, and he was happy for Buck and Meredith. He was a little jealous he didn't get to experience that with Christopher, but he was grateful that Meredith and Buck were experiencing it with the baby together. He almost wanted to call the baby their baby, but he wasn't sure if Meredith was anywhere near that yet.

Buck always talked about Meredith and the baby when they weren't busy at work. Eddie could tell that Buck was head over heals for Meredith, and that he wanted to be a father to Meredith's baby, but Eddie also knew that Meredith had been hurt in the past, and it wasn't easy for her to trust. She may fall for Buck fast, but she wouldn't completely trust him for some time.

Knowing that the baby was reacting more to touch, Christopher tried his hardest to get the baby to react to him. With a bit of time and determination, Christopher was able to feel the baby slightly kick his hand. He was so happy about it, and because he had messed with her belly enough to make the baby move, Eddie was able to feel the baby as well.

"Well, at least we can tell the baby is healthy. You're going to get better, and you both will be just fine." Eddie commented, and Meredith smiled at him.

"Yep, all thanks to doctor Buck." She replied jokingly, causing Eddie to chuckle, but all Buck did was smile.

He was so happy the baby kicked for him and moved for him. He felt more connected to the baby than he had all ready. He wanted to be a father, and wanted to be there for Meredith. Nothing was going to change his mind, and he just hoped that she'd feel the same. Once Eddie and Christopher left, Buck decided he'd just stay the night. He went home and packed himself an overnight bag, before going back to Meredith's for the night. He wanted to spend all his time with her, and it seemed she wanted to do the same...
