Meredith and Buck had exchanged numbers while they were out eating. Meredith didn't know that Buck had asked Eddie about her, and considered asking him for her number. He didn't want to come off as weird though, so he didn't ask Eddie for her number. It was way sweeter asking her anyway, since it proved that she was interested in him, too, when she gave him her phone number.
It had been a couple of weeks since they exchanged numbers, and the two had texted each other back and forth almost everyday. Buck had even gotten scolded for being on his phone when he was supposed to be working. He was only supposed to be cleaning something up, but it was still a scolding he didn't want. The scolding didn't stop him from texting with Meredith though. He really liked the girl, and all he wanted to do was talk to her, and hang out with her.
For the first week, Meredith and Buck exchanged regular messages, such as "how are you," and "goodmorning," and "how was your day?" They also texted each other questions, almost like the game 20 Questions, so they could learn about each other. They happened to learn quite a bit about each other, some stuff that other people didn't know about them. The only other person that knew as much about Meredith as Buck did was Eddie, well, and obviously her father, but that was inevitable.
On the second week of texting, their messages changed a bit from how they had started. Meredith and Buck had began sending flirty type texts to each other. Meredith would often blush or become very smiley after Buck sent her a flirty text. When it came to a message like that from Meredith, Buck would often grin or start giggling like a girl when he thought nobody was paying attention to him. Truth be told, most of the team could see his reactions, and nobody knew who he was texting — except Eddie. Eddie knew, but that was because Meredith couldn't keep it a secret.
Eddie liked the idea of Buck and Meredith talking to each other, considering both people were his best friends, and he loved them like family. He wanted them both to be happy, and he had a feeling since he met Meredith, that she and Buck would be good together — good for each other. Meredith would keep Buck level-headed and happy, and Buck would keep Meredith self-confident and happy.
Eddie and Meredith agreed that they didn't really need to tell Christopher about what was going on between Buck and Meredith. The girl wasn't sure if she and Buck were really going to be together, or if they were just harmlessly flirting with each other. Eddie claimed that he knew Buck was serious about her, but he decided to agree with her, that she needed to see what was going on between her and Buck before telling Christopher.
Christopher may not have been her blood nephew, but she and Eddie were like brother and sister, and she loved Christopher. She didn't want to get him put in the middle of a relationship. She also didn't want to get him excited for a relationship that might not happen, or could end badly only a couple of weeks into it. She wanted to trust Buck entirely, but after everything that had happened to her, and all the people that had hurt her, it wasn't easy for her to trust him just from a couple texts.
'I wanna see your beautiful face again soon, and spend time with my two favorite people'
Meredith felt her cheeks turn pink as she read Buck's message. She wanted to see him, too, and honestly, knowing he really cared about her baby made her heart flutter. He was just so sweet, and she wished that all men could be as sweet as him, but if they were, than Buck wouldn't be special like he was now.
"Oh Mery, I just wanna see your beautiful face and hug you and kiss you and spend all my time with you when I'm supposed to be working." Eddie teased in a high pitched voice, causing Meredith to glare at the man that had entered her apartment with pizza and Christopher.
"Eddie!" Meredith grumbled,"It's not nice to bully me."
"I'm not bullying you," He replied,"I'm simply giving you a demonstration of how your messages sound to me when the other person is supposed to be working."
"Either give me the pizza, or get out." She retorted, and he chuckled.
"If I leave, I'm taking the pizza and Christopher with me." He said, making her quickly stop him.
"No, no!" She gave him a grin,"I'm sorry, sit down, I'll get the plates." She replied, causing him to shake his head with an amused smile.
"Can we watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?" Christopher asked, as he sat down next to Meredith's seat.
"Sure," She answered,"it should be on Netflix."
Eddie grabbed the remote to the TV, as Meredith came back with three plates, and three bottles of water. Meredith didn't make it a habit of eating junk food, but whenever Eddie offered to bring home takeout, she wouldn't say no. She loved pizza, and she was an even bigger fan of Chinese food, but they didn't have that too often, because Eddie was afraid it would make her sick.
Anyhow, for the rest of the night, the three watched movies and talked about their day. Eddie told them about a crazy case he had been on, and Meredith and Christopher listened with full attention. Meredith was honestly surprised how interesting Eddie's job really was. She thought it was going to be the same little things, like house fires and kittens stuck in trees, but he had a lot of interesting stories. The girl was almost jealous of his job. She would never have the courage to be a firefighter, but she did like all the crazy stories Eddie would tell...
