A couple days later, Meredith had to say goodbye to her father. He had a movie to get ready for, and though Meredith was going to miss him, she was glad he was so successful. She couldn't deny the fact that he was a good actor, even if that sounded biased because she was his daughter.

Anyhow, Meredith was pulled out of her thoughts by a knock on her door. She was curious about who was at the door, considering Eddie was at work and Christopher was at school - as far as she knew. He could've been picked up early and brought to Eddie's work, though it was barely ten in the morning, so she doubted that would happen.

She cringed when she looked down at her clothes

She cringed when she looked down at her clothes. She was always one to get dressed and not wear pajamas all day. She wasn't expecting any guests, so she didn't dress nice. Matter of fact, her father's old flannel wasn't even buttoned, leaving her baby bump on full display from the lack of coverage her black cropped top gave. Quickly, she buttoned a couple buttons in front of her baby bump, before she went to the door and opened it.

"Buck?" She was a little surprised and confused,"What are you doing here?" She asked,"I didn't know you knew where I lived." She murmured, making him smile.

"Well, you're Eddie's neighbor, so I figured you'd be the door close to his," He joked, and she blushed lightly,"and uh, Eddie was the one who told me you were home. If you want me to leave, I will, I just - nevermind." He turned to leave, but she quickly grabbed his arm.

"I don't want you to leave," She commented,"I was just surprised that you were here," She motioned for him to come inside,"I wasn't expecting any visitors."

"I um, I was wondering if you would wanna go get coffee with me?" He asked, before his eyes trailed to her belly,"or-or tea, or something like that. We can get breakfast." He rambled, looking a little nervous.

"Are you sure?" She asked,"I mean, you can obviously see why I'm asking." She commented, as she motioned to her belly.

"Yeah, I, uh, I like you, Meredith. I don't mind that you're having a baby." He replied, giving her a grin.

"I'd love to go out for breakfast with you," She said,"I'm just going to change real quick, so could you just sit over there and give me a minute?"

Meredith went through her closet, and decided to wear a dress. She wanted to wear something that looked nice, especially since Buck had technically asked her out. She also wanted to wear something that hid her baby bump. She was still trying to hide the bump from the world, but it was starting to get harder and harder as her belly grew.

"You ready?" Buck asked, as Meredith came out of her room

"You ready?" Buck asked, as Meredith came out of her room.

"Yes, let's go." She replied, giving Buck a smile.

Buck had offered to drive her in his car, and she had agreed after deciding that it wasn't a horrible idea. She enjoyed riding with Buck, because he listened to music similar to her taste, and he was fun to talk to. When they finally got to the place Buck wanted to bring her, Meredith was actually rather hungry.

"Do you know what you wanna eat?" He asked, as they sat down at a table where Meredith had her back against a wall.

She wanted to have her back against a wall, since it would keep people from sneaking up on her. Buck understood, barely, but he knew who her father was, and he figured if she wanted to sit with her back against the wall to be safe, he'd let her have what she wanted. Either way, even if she didn't, he'd protect her.

"What can I get you--" The waitress stopped,"Oh my God, you're Meredith Depp! You're Johnny Depp's daughter!" She exclaimed, and Meredith smiled anxiously,"You're on a date? Who's this? Your boyfriend?"

"Can we just order?" Buck asked,"I'd rather she wasn't asked a thousand questions." He said, and the waitress blushed.

"Yeah," She nodded,"What can I get you guys to eat?" She asked, as she clicked her pen.

"I want the full breakfast platter, and she'd really like some pancakes with strawberries on the side," Buck said,"and we'd both like some apple juice."

The waitress nodded and quickly walked away with their order. Meredith smiled in relief when the woman walked away. She did love her dad's fans, but she didn't want to be bombarded by questions and fans every time she went out, especially when she was with someone who liked her.

"Thank you for that, Buck." She commented, and Buck grinned.

"I'll protect you, Mery, nobody will bother you when I'm around." He replied, causing her to smile and blush.

Buck really was a sweetheart. Honestly, she really liked him, but she definitely needed to know more about him. She was going to let him tell her what he wanted to, but she'd ask Eddie about things Buck didn't mention. She wanted to know for sure that he wasn't just "liking" her because of who her father was. She wanted to give Buck the benefit of the doubt, but she was scared to be hurt.

She had a baby to think about, and she had to do what was best for the baby. If Buck ended up being the good guy she really wanted to believe he was, than she'd keep him close to her and her baby. She just didn't want to be screwed over, leaving her and her baby to pick up their own pieces later on...
