"That means what I think it means, doesn't it?" Dean looked at Sam seriously. Sam only gave Dean a straight face as I continued looking between the boys with confusion until I saw a blob heading into the room. I tilted my head slightly as I followed its movements and watched it hover over my bed.
"We gotta try and contact her," Dean looked around the room obviously not finding much. I watched as the blob moved closer to my body then watched as a glowing light started leaving my body and everything started flashing. The heart monitor began collapsing and the two boys looked to it urgently.
"Paisley, no!" Dean shouted. Sam left the room as I went to Dean's side whom was looking at my body frantically. "Look, I know you have to be close, hell you could be next to me, but I need you to fight whatever is taking you, okay? Don't let it win, Paisley please. I love you. I know it's always been hard for me to embrace it, but if you're listening to me, Paisley, please know I love you. I always have and I always will."
I looked to him shocked that he got so heart felt and emotional as I felt the tears falling from my face. I wish it didn't take me being on my deathbed for him to be so open about it, but at the moment I took what I could get.
"Get away from me! I'm not ready to go!"
"Paisley," that voice was behind me. I turned around to see she had her hand held out.
"That's how you can see me. You're a reaper. You can't take me, I'm not ready to go."
"It's not a matter of if you're ready, Paisley. You know how this works."
I bit my lip as I looked to the side seeing them try to drag and push Dean out as they started CPR. They rolled in a defibrillator powering it up.
"I can't leave him," I whispered. "I can't leave my daughter."
I watched as they put the pads on my chest and hit the button. I felt a pain in my chest and a deep breath pull through.
"Paisley, wake up, damnit!" I heard Dean shouting as Sam tried keeping him back. I felt the surge of electricity again.
"My family needs me," I looked to her angrily as I walked toward my body feeling the pressure of the compressions on my chest. She screamed as I grabbed onto my body.
****
I took in a deep breath letting out several coughs as I pushed the doctor's hands off my chest.
"Ms. Sterling, Ms. Sterling!"
"Where am I? What happened? Where's my daughter? Where's — "
" — Paisley!"
I looked up to see Dean pushing through nurses and doctors and Sam as he got to my bedside. He hugged my head close to him kissing the top of it repeatedly.
"Dean," I gripped his arm as he held me tightly. "Where's Elli?"
"She was being observed, but they let me sign her paperwork to be out while they were trying to bring you back. Sam went to get her."
"Mommy! Daddy!"
My eyes filled with tears as I pulled back from Dean and saw her jumping up and down in Sam's arms.
"Eleanor!" I smiled as Sam brought her over and set her on the bed. She climbed into my lap and I felt her warmth embrace me.
"Mommy! Mommy, I saw you!"
"You saw me? Sweetie, I've been sleeping," I knitted my brows as I looked from her to Dean. He just shook his head as a way to not worry about it and I looked back to her. "You're okay though, right? No ouchies?"
