Paisley
New motel, same life, same problems.
Elli's giggles erupted in the room as Sam tossed her up and caught her and repeated the action. He'd coo in her face when he'd catch her and make flying noises when he tossed her. And every time she let out the loudest, cutest giggle. I sound like a broken record, but it was the moments like these that I absolutely lived for.
And as always, the moments I lived for always came to an end.
Dean and I jumped to our feet as Sam caught Elli one last time and held her close to his chest as someone fell through the motel closest. I grabbed my gun from the band of my pants and pointed it at the intruder as Dean stood in defense.
"Please, time is of the essence! Which one of you is John Winchester?"
"Uh, neither," Sam's brows knitted in confusion as he stared long and hard at the suited gentleman in front of us. He looked to me with the gun pointed at him with wide eyes as he examined the room. His eyes landed on Sam holding Elli and I saw a softness twinkle through. I cleared my throat and stepped over to get back in his attention grasp.
"That's impossible. That's absolutely .. what did I do wrong?" his eyes moved away as he went deep in exasperated thought. I shared a quick look with Dean who motioned for me to stand down slightly as he took in our intruder.
"Who the hell are you, mister?" he broke the intruder's silent confusion. The intruder shook his head as he kept his eyes fixed on the ground lost in some kind of thought. I raised a brow as I looked to Dean again.
"Not now. I'm thinking," the intruder brushed Dean off. Dean acted quickly and shoved him against the wall keeping his arm against the stranger's throat. I tensed back up in my defense as I watched the situation unfold.
"Is he gonna hurt daddy?" I heard Elli whisper softly. I heard Sam coo a soft shh.
"Please. I can assure you there's no need for violence. Especially in front of the child," he gestured toward Elli with a care in his eyes. It seemed almost genuine, but I didn't believe much of that nonsense when there was a constant target on her back. "One of you must know John Winchester."
"I'll tell you what," I scoffed not easing my grip off of the gun. "When one of us falls out of your closest then you can ask the questions."
"Yes, my apologies," he realized how ridiculous and concerning all of this seemed. He let out a small sigh as he looked between Dean's arm and the gun I had pointed at him. "Is it absolutely essential, sir, that you keep your hands on me?" Dean looked down to his arm and stepped back allowing the stranger off the wall. I kept my hard stare on him and a tight grip on the gun. He looked to me questioningly. "And you, madame, is the weapon really necessary?"
I didn't change my stance. He glanced behind me toward Sam.
"Sir, may you get your woman's violence directed elsewhere?"
"M — My?" Sam coughed.
"Excuse me!" I spoke at the same time.
"MY woman," Dean also shouted at the same time gathering the stranger's attention back to him. He cleared his throat not realizing the anger that was in his correction. "She doesn't take lightly to orders, but," he glanced over to me. "If we gotta shoot, you have the honors, but ya mind putting down the gun so fella can do some explaining?"
