"Oh ... my god," I said slowly as I put Eleanor down with a deep breath. "Go play or something, please," I leaned back up with my hand on my forehead looking at them. I let out a breathy laugh feeling my eyes fill with water. "She's too little to know about any of this. She shouldn't have to know about anything, yet. Not yet."
"She's a Winchester, Paisley. It's kind of in the name," Sam looked at me sadly.
"Another issue we have is Cass. He told me and Sam he doesn't remember how he got out. I don't know about you, but like Eleanor said, I got some pretty scary memories from that place, and he doesn't remember how he got out? Am I the only one that finds a problem with that?" Dean looked between us suspiciously as he moved to lean against the table. There was something about him leaning against that table with his sleeves rolled up looking at me. Oh man.
"He's our friend, and I'm worried about him, but our daughter, Dean. You're not the least bit worried about this?"
"I'm scared out of my mind that she's exposed like that, but don't you think it's weird he doesn't remember how he got out and you and our daughter nearly died from what we can simply assume was an angel trying to get to her? I mean, I see some pretty big correlation there, Pais."
"He's got a pretty solid point," Sam looked to me worried.
"You think he's lying, then?" I looked back to Dean crossing my arms.
"I'm saying something else happened. I saw the shape he was in. There was no way he was fighting his ass out alone. No way," Dean made it clear not breaking eye contact. I know there was a lot that happened in Purgatory, and I know it took a massive toll on him whether or not he wants to fully open up about it. I let out a heavy sigh as I rubbed my face.
Suddenly, that entire year was extremely peaceful.
"Okay so who ... or what got him out?"
"Exactly," Dean answered his brother.
"Angels, vampires, I thought we weren't doing this," I groaned with my face still in my hands as I plopped in the chair.
"Better?" we suddenly heard a gruff voice. The three of us turned to see Cas freshly shaven, his signature suit under his trench coat and much cleaner than he was. I gave a simple smile. "What are we not doing?" he tilted his head looking at me with that kind look in his eyes that he always gave me.
"Uh, nothing, Cas," I shook my head looking to my shoes.
"How about you go take a load off, Cas. You've been fighting a while," Sam suggested as he tilted his head toward the living room.
"Stay in the living room," Dean had a warning tone in his voice. I could understand why he didn't want him anywhere near Eleanor at the moment.
"Vampires? I thought y'all killed them," Sam suddenly spoke once Cas was out of the room.
"Turns out my mother is one," I laughed. "She was why Dean needed to cure me," I fluttered my eyes up at Sam. "She wants me to be a part of her little family."
"I thought your mother was dead. You know, same guy that killed your dad when I met you."
"How did you know that? I didn't even tell Dean that," I squinted my eyes at him.
"You must forget dad was friends with your dad. He told us about the case and who he was meeting."
"The revenge seeking dream team," I rolled my eyes. "Oh, I failed to mention she's been watching us this whole time," I looked up to Dean.
"I'm sorry, what?" he changed his stance as he gave me a more serious look.
"Oh yeah, she knows about Eleanor. She knows about our relationship. She tried to torture me with it actually," I huffed out a laugh as I looked back to my feet.
