For a split second, I stand there, frozen with terror. Then, on instinct, I dive for the bushes beside the driveway.
The car follows, Havannah crushing everything in her path. The car smashes against the trunk of one of the mature trees. There's the sound of creaking, groaning metal as I run for the house. As I'm running up the steps, willing my legs to carry me to safety, I glance behind me. I see Havannah falling out of the vehicle. She just looks like Havannah now. The demon face is gone. Now she just looks wild. Crazy.
"YOU DIDN'T THINK I WOULD FIGURE IT OUT?" she screams. "I I SAW YOU IN ITALY! I SAW YOU!" And then she does something I'm not at all prepared for.
She smiles. A sick, strange sort of smile.
The car behind her suddenly rises. Up into the air. It hovers there for a split second.
Then comes hurtling towards me.
