First thing on todays to-do list: call Ellie. All I need to do is ask a very simple question. While they've gone on holiday to wherever in the nice sun, I'm staying here in France. Joking. I just got back from a nice little holiday in Spain, and I obviously went back home to Australia.
ANYWAY. All I was trying to do was have I nice little scroll through instagram. You know what, see? Ellie posted a photo. But not just any photo no, Dan had a ring on her finger, an engagement ring.
I HAD TO FIND OUT OF INSTAGRAM MY BIG SISTER IS ENGAGED.
Then I looked in my call log and saw about 20 miss calls from her, but oh well. She should've tried harder to talk to me.
Like I should've known that when she asked me what ring Dan would like, she meant, "Oh yeah, I'm going to ask her to marry me." Did she tell me that? NO. So, did I figure it out then? Also, no.
"ELLIE." I shouted through the FaceTime as I sped over to her house, considering they got back today.
"What's up, and please don't tell me you're speeding right now."
"Umm. That's not important, and more importantly, WHY THE HELL DID I FIND OUT that YOU GOT ENGAGED THROUGH the INSTAGRAM."
I heard Ellie shuffle a little, and then I heard Dan laughing at me. "(Y/n/n) you know that I asked you for help on what ring she might like? You helped me go ring shopping."
"WELL, I obviously didn't think about that El. Stop being so mean to me. Oh, I'm on my way to yours, too."
"I didn't expect anything less (Y/n/n)." Ellie said, sighing as Dan came into view.
"Hey (Y/n/n), how are you?"
"How are you? You're the one who got engaged to my traitorous sister. I mean, she didn't even tell me. I found out through instagram of all places!"
"Tough luck, huh? Do you think you maybe just didn't pay attention to what you did like normal? I mean, El did take you shopping with her. That should've been a giveaway." DVD said, laughing at me this time with Ellie smirking in the background.
"Of course you take her side. You're getting married, so you're always taking her side! It just shows your ages." I responded, smirking as I slowly pulled up into the parking space, ready to go into theirs.
"Hey, I am NOT old, I'm only 23 (Y/n/n). If anyone here's old, it's Dan cause she's 32." I gasped while Dan gave Ellie the death stare.
"How could you say that about Dan?"
"Yeah, Ellie, how could you say that about me?" Dan repeated my words with minor difference. In return, Ellie looked at us both gobsmacked, as if she couldn't believe we're agreeing on something.
"Wha- bu- you said - never mind. I'll open the door for you now." Ellie said, so I quickly hung up and ran to the door, waiting outside patiently by knocking a ton until it was opened by Ellie.
I immediately ran to her, pulling her into a bone crushing hug. "I can't believe that you and oldie are getting married to you. I thought you two might one day, but I didn't expect so soon, like this year soon. I thought you would wimp out." I rapidly said, whispering the part where I called Dan old so there wouldn't be any evidence if Ellie snitched on me.
A couple seconds later, Dan came into the room, and Ellie pulled her into a group hug with us.
"One thing, though. I'm not wearing a dress at your wedding." I say which caused them all to laugh.
"Fine by us." DVD said before Ellie could try pull the 'it's going to be a special day though' talk.
"This is crazy! Dan, I can't believe you said yes now you're stuck with myself, stinky sister or eternity or whatever!"
"I wouldn't rather anything else." Dan said before giving Ellie a kiss.
"Ewww. Get a room!" I say, which caused both heads to look towards me with a smile.
"You're a literal child." Ellie said, giving me a smack round the back of the head.
"Hey! I'm 19! That's like a full-grown ass adult!"
"Then act like it!"
"Children, please. You're giving me a headache." Danielle said, interrupting our little quarrel.
I looked at Ellie as she looked at me, and we couldn't help but burst out in laughter. It wasn't funny, but it so is. Me and El were just messing about, but Dan was dead serious, and that's what made it so funny.
"But, back to the serious stuff. When's your wedding going to be? How awesome is it going to be? What am I going to do? Will I have to do some soppy speech?" I rambled.
Ellie and Dan gave a light chuckled.
"(Y/n/n) Calm down, we don't know any details yet because we got engaged like yesterday before we had to come back here for training soon, okay?" Dan began, which was quickly overtook by El.
"I don't know what you do yet, but I'm thinking along the lines of a bridesmaid or something, I don't know, I don't know weddings either, but oh well. Anyway, yes, I will force you to make a speech, and a nice one at that."
"Okayyyyyyy."
"That's what I thought." Ellie said, giving my head a little push.
"HEY! I didn't do anything for once! Dan, tell your idiotic fiancé to be nice to her younger sister."
"I think I'm okay. This is entertaining. But in general, I'm going to stay out of this." DVD said while walking out the room and into the lounge, considering we were still in the hallway just in front of the door, so I quickly took my shoes off and ran after her and Ellie.
Dan is going to be my sister in law even though she's like 100. This is crazy.
