I can't believe I'm back in England. For a little bit of context, I debuted for Manchester United when I was 17 and stayed there for 2 seasons before moving to Bayern Munich. I was in Germany for 3 seasons. Then I got an offer once my contract ran up, so I was a free agent.
Manchester Untied offered me a new contract. It was a good contract, three years, good pay in a job I love, which is arguably the most important part of this. To me, though, what mattered most is that I'll be with my big sister again. I guess Ella is what dragged me back to Manchester. For now, at least.
The best part is that she doesn't know yet.
"Millie." I said as I appeared behind her, which made her jump not expecting me. "It's amazing to see you again." I whispered after being pulled into a hug.
"Let's go scare your sister, yeah?" Millie began, "I missed you too, though." She whispered before pulling away and dragging me towards her car.
I've known Millie for as long as I've known Lessi, I met them both with Ella at and England camp, and then we all became club mates at United. Obviously them before me, but I was only joining a year after Ella.
I suppose as much as Ella is a reason I moved back to United. I also wanted to move back here for her. I get some people think it's stupid, but Lessi just moved to Arsenal, and El hasn't been the same, Millies told me that herself.
From what I've been able to see on calls and everything and what Mills has been able to see in person, Ella just doesn't have the same spark right now in her. I get that it comes in the territory of the job, but I never thought I would see Ella like it. Not now, at least.
After around 20 minutes from the airport, we finally got closer to the flat. Joes not home right now. He's away doing whatever, which means I can surprise Ella without the surprise being ruined.
"Alight Mills, here's the plan. You're going to knock on the door and ask her for help getting the suitcase out of the car while I sneak in and hide behind a wall. That way, when she comes past me, I can jump out, and hopefully, she screams and falls on the floor like normal. That would be the best coming home prank EVER!" I say, letting my inner child out. What can I say? I'm 20! I'm still a child pretty much.
"You're such a child!" Millie laughed as we parked the car. "I thought you would've grown up from your time away from here."
"HEY! You're a child too! Plus, I'm only 20, and I'll start growing up when I'm 120." I laughed, pushing Millies shoulder.
I quickly got out of the car and hid around a corner while Millie knocked on the door and grabbed Ella to help with the suitcase because she 'hurt her arm' by falling over. Ella, being Ella, didn't suspect anything, though, the poor sod.
Once, I got in I on a chair by the kitchen counter or whatever they're called and scrolled through instagram until I heard the door shut, which showed me they were back. I peaked around the corner to see Ella dragging the suitcase, and Millie gave me a small smirk, so I took that as my chance to sneak forward.
As soon as I got beside Ella, I winked at Millie. "ELLA!" I shouted, which caused her to let out a little scream and fall onto the floor, most likely having a heart attack.
"(Y/n) don't do that." Ella said, rolling her eyes and looking away before recognition hit her like a truck. "Wait a minute. (Y/n/n) What are you doing here!" Ella shouted as she sprang up from her spot on the floor and lung herself into my arms, or more like dragged me into hers.
"Els enough. Let me gooooo." I complained even though I love it, I love seeing Ella, and it's been so long like a full two weeks long since our last lionesses camp.
"I missed you so much." I heard her say, which sounded mumbled, most likely due to my head buried in her shoulder.
"I missed you too, oldie."
"Hey! I am not old alright, Millies older than me for gods sake."
"Yeah, maybe, but you're my older sister and act like a 100 year old when you go protective. Millies are actually fun, too, like all the time. You're just fun when you're not worried about me." I say with a small shrug before seeing the look in Ellas eyes and running away.
"Get back here (Y/n/n), I just want to talk." Ella shouted, beginning to chase after me.
"NO, you have the" I want to kill you, look in your eyes, and that means you tickle me, and I'm not mentally capable of being able to handle that right now!" I shouted back as Ella took a shortcut and grabbed me, pulling me onto the sofa with her.
Instead of tickling me, though, she just pulled me into a longer hug.
"I missed you so much." She mumbled.
"I missed out to Els, and I can't wait to play with you again." I say, finally dropping the bomb in a way.
"What?" She questioned, "This is going to be amazing!" She pulling me in the tight hug.
