For the last week and a bit, Ethan and I haven't talked about what happened that night but we seem to have gone back to how we were before, with him holding my hand, cooking for me, he even came in when I had a nightmare the other night. He's been talking to the baby too and it already knows his voice. Whenever Ethan talks, the baby moves. Ethan has a meeting today with the Bruins to go over his schedule and everything to make his transition into a full time NHL player as smooth as possible. Everybody else is out of the apartment today with exams or study as that graduate next week and have their finally exams in the next few days.

The weather is getting really nice lately and I'm sick of being couped up in the apartment so I decide to go for a walk. With the baby growing bigger, I'm getting a little more uncomfortable and today I've had my first experience with braxton hicks contractions. They are only every so often and doctor Bennett told me that exercise can help to ease them. So I change into one of the new dresses I brough the other week with the girls. It's a simple baby blue summer dress. I pair it with a pair of comfy shoes as I am going to be walking and my sun hat.

Walking out of the apartment complex, I decide that I'm going to walk to a nearby café and stop in there for a snack, because all I seem to do these days is eat. The sun beats down on my arms and a light breeze rustles the leaves on the trees. The café is only about a 20 minute walk from the apartment and once I arrive I find a table and order a chocolate milkshake and pancakes with strawberries and cream. After sitting outside of the café eating my pancakes and watching the world go by, I decide to take the long route home through the park as I'm still having these little pains in my back and stomach.

The park is beautiful this time of year. The flowers are in full bloom, the birds are chirping and the sun is so warm on my skin. I'm walking along watching the kids play on the playground when I feel a sharp pain that makes me stop and groan. I see a bench to sit down on just a little further along the path. I make my way over there and sit down next to an older lady. "Are you alright dear?" she asks concerned.

"Yeah, just braxton hicks contractions. I'm not due for another 5 weeks." I answer

"Your first?" I nod. "Most first babies are late but you looked like that was painful. Just take it easy, do you have far to walk home?"

"No only about 10 minutes and thank you for your concern." I stand up as the pain has subsided and continue to make my way back to the apartment. Once I arrive, I'm feeling a little tired after all that walking so I go up to my bedroom and lay down on top of the covers to rest.

I have no idea how long I slept for but when I wake up I am in so much pain. I don't even know how I managed to stay asleep. My stomach feels like it is just one giant cramp, constantly contracting. I look down at my belly and notice there is blood on my comforter, a lot of blood as another wave of pain rips through me. I can't even stand up the pain is that bad. I reach for my phone on my bedside table and notice that it is only 2pm and nobody is due home for at least another 2 hours.

I try to call Ethan first but he doesn't answer, I know I should call 911 but I don't think I can actually talk enough to give them the address, I'm in too much pain. I call Jake next knowing that he is only studying and not in an exam. He answers on the second ring "Hey Mia, miss me already?" I can't reply as another wave of pain racks through my body and I let out a scream. "Mia, Mia, are you okay?" I can hear the panic in his voice. "Jake" I manage to get out in a pained voice. "Mia, stay calm, I'm on my way. I'm going to call the paramedics. Okay? I'll be home soon. Just please be okay" and then the line goes dead. I curl my knees up as my stomach keeps contracting. I feel like I'm going to be sick and with little warning I vomit but manage to lean over the side of the bed so it goes over the floor.

I have no idea how long it's been since I spoke with Jake, the pain is just too much. I hear my name being called from downstairs, it's Jake. He rushed up the stairs and into my room. "Oh fuck. Yeah I just got here, there is a lot of blood and she's in excruciating pain." I have no idea who he's talking too but he comes over to me and brushes my hair out of my face. "It's okay Mia, the paramedics are on their way. Just hold in there for me"

I grab hold of his hand and squeeze as the pain continues to get worse. I look in his eyes and I can see the panic even though he is reassuring me. "Ethan" I manage to get out, "Alex is trying to get in contact with him now. He'll be here or meet us at the hospital. The paramedics are about 5 minutes away so just hold in there, it's going to be okay" He places a soft kiss on my head and not leaving my side. I can see that he's on the phone and I can only assume it's to 911.

"Mia, I need to have a look and see if I can see the baby okay." I just nod, I don't care what he has to do, anything to help because I have no idea what's happening to me at the moment. There is blood which isn't good and he's the only one here. He lifts up my dress and lets me know that he needs to take my underwear off to be able to see. He slide them down my legs and then talks to the person on the other end of the phone. The only words I make out are "no head".

"Mia the paramedics are nearly here, they are just coming into the building, they'll be able to help really soon." I don't know how he is staying so calm through all of this. Next thing I know there are 3 paramedics in the room hooking me up to all these machines while Jake tells them what's been going on. I feel better knowing that help is here but the one person I need with me it's here yet. Ethan.
