It was an odd feeling, like an itch I couldn't quite scratch. Sophia's friends, especially Ava, seemed to be a negative influence on her.
It was as if they were on a mission to change her opinion about me, to plant seeds of doubt in her mind.
Every word they spoke, every glance they shared, felt like an orchestrated attempt to drive a wedge between us.
But Sophia, she was resilient. She was strong-willed and stubborn, and she was passing this test with flying colors.
Her faith in me remained unshaken, her love for me unwavering.
It was a testament to the depth of her feelings, a testament to the kind of love we shared.
Love, as I understood it, wasn't just about the good times.
It was about standing by someone, especially when you truly loved them.
It was about weathering the storms together, about facing challenges head-on.
And Sophia was doing just that. She was standing by me, despite the doubts her friends were trying to instill in her.
As I sat there, lost in my thoughts, the classroom door creaked open. Mia, a girl from our class, sauntered in, her eyes scanning the room before they landed on me.
She wore a smirk on her face as she made her way towards me, her steps deliberate and slow.
"Aww, you two are together?" She asked, her voice dripping with faux sweetness.
Her eyes flickered to Sophia's empty seat next to me, a hint of mockery in her gaze.
"Yes, why do you care?" I retorted, my tone sharper than I intended.
My patience was wearing thin, and Mia's unwelcome intrusion was the last thing I needed.
"I care about you," she replied, her voice dropping to a whisper.
Her words hung in the air, heavy with unspoken implications.
"She looks hideous to be with a guy like you," Mia continued, her words laced with venom.
Her blatant disrespect for Sophia made my blood boil. Sophia was beautiful, both inside and out, and no one had the right to belittle her.
"Don't talk about her like that, you barely know her," I defended Sophia, my voice firm.
I could feel my anger rising, but I forced myself to stay calm.
I wouldn't let Mia get the reaction she was hoping for.
"If you say so, handsome," Mia responded, a flirty smile playing on her lips.
Her blatant attempt to flirt with me only served to annoy me further.
I turned away from her, my mind filled with thoughts of Sophia. I knew I had to talk to her, to reassure her that I loved her, that I trusted her.
I knew I had to stand up for her, to show her that I was on her side.
As I sat there, lost in my thoughts, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The events of the past few days had taken a toll on me, on us.
I knew we had to face this challenge head-on, to prove to everyone, including ourselves, that our love was strong enough to withstand anything.
