-The Devil You Know-
-Chapter Six: Pink, Bargaining, Scorch-
"In fact you will"
You put the phone down, sighing as you turned back to Ava who was still on the couch.
"Sorry about that, we should probably...get out there, take my mind off things"
Ava twiddled her thumbs for a minute, nodding slowly as she stood up, she felt embarrassed and hadn't even put her suit on yet.
"Yeah right I'll uh...get changed" Ava said, blushing a bit, going into your room and locking the door.
You found her mood a little off, but maybe she was just in shock from the news, you couldn't blame her for that.
Ava was taking an unusual amount of time to get ready, and you checked your phone, deciding not to judge.
Ava was on the other side of the door, looking at the mirror in her hero outfit, she shrunk into herself, her once bold posture was now a nervous one.
She'd had her fair share of comments about her body, some positive, some negative. She always knew she was well endowed in some areas, but this costume made sure everyone knew.
She didn't even like pink.
She was startled when there was a knock at her rooms door, as she nodded to herself, trying to psyche herself up.
You backed off a bit when the door opened, and Ava walked through wearing her new costume, you were taken aback for sure, she'd never even told you that she changed it.
"Wow you look..." You struggled to find the words. "Beautiful"
"I look like a slut" Ava said, as you could see on her face she wasn't willingly wearing it.
"Hey...what happened?" You asked, as her eyes began to tear up.
She told you everything, how Vought had blackmailed her into wearing this costume, how she hated looking at herself and felt like a whore.
Obviously you were with her the whole time, as she started crying, and you had felt something raw for the first time in a while.
You felt truly angry. And you were going to change it.
You shot up, as Ava looked up at you, you were running around grabbing your phone and your keys.
"Where are you going?" Ava asked, wanting you to stay.
"Take that costume off, I'm going to give Stillwell a piece of my mind, then I'll fly to one of my dads friends and tell her to call you, you can design your new suit with her" You said, leaving soon after.
Stillwell was sitting in her office, minding her own business, as content as any wealthy CEO normally would be.
However there was a sharp knock at the door, as she squinted at it, she knew her heroes enough to tell each style.
"Come in?" Stillwell asked, as you walked in.
