-The Devil You Know-

-Chapter Seven: Rosenbaum, Recognition, Matias-

"You really are his son"

"Are you sure this is the right place?" Ava asked, as you both stood outside a borderline abandoned building.

"Impressive I know" You smiled, looking up at it.

Together both of you entered, and the inside looked about as good as the outside, derelict and abandoned.

But Ava was slightly surprised you didn't seen too taken aback, as you walked with purpose into a library like area.

There were hardly any books on the shelves, and the ones that were had dust around them, as you looked for one in particular.

"Couldn't he of like...met us out here?" Ava asked as you looked around.

"Well its more fun this way" You mumbled to yourself as you grabbed a red book.

But it didn't come out of the shelf, and instead revealed a hidden door like in every murder mystery book ever.

The door slid open to reveal a much more fitting and high tech staircase going down, as you smile a little to yourself.

"Bingo" You cheered to yourself, as you led her downstairs.

The downstairs of the Rosenbaum estate was everything people theorised, there were a lot of rumours about this mysterious hero costumes creator.

From what you had heard he was the basis for a lot of the modern superhero designs, as his work echoed throughout the scene.

He had created the costumes of all the members of the Sun Syndicate, fitting each of them to fit their specific set of powers.

You had denied his request to make you a suit, something no one had ever done before, largely because you wanted to be your own hero, as far from your father as possible.

But since that decision you had made so long ago was one you'd came to regret, since your costumes regularly ruined themselves.

But Rosenbaum wasn't the type of person you went too when you needed a suit, he came to you, if he hadn't, you were out of luck.

You knocked on the door, the only closed door in the basement area, as you heard a thick New York accent call for you to come in.

You both entered and sat down, it felt like talking to the principle, even though neither of you were in trouble.

"Y'know, when Nolan first came to be about this I though to me self...'there aint no way...those Vought pussies would have her preenin' around in this shit'" Rosenbaum began. "But here we fuckin are"

"Th-thank you...for doing this sir" Ava sat up a bit and awkwardly smiled.

"Eh no problem" Rosenbaum brushed it off. "I could send ya out there in a potato sack and it'd be better than that pinky shit"

Rosenbaum handed Ava a folder, and she looked into it seeing that it was full of drawings of a blonde woman in different hero suits of all colours and designs.
