The door to Butcher safehouse had opened, nestled in a comic book store, both he and everyone else was aware of the irony.
No one had called Butcher, MM or anyone else there that they'd be coming, so they were all on high alert as they faced the door.
What made it worse is the fact Starlight herself was there, having vowed to help them take down Vought and expose their crimes, she had already leaked the existence of Compound V, so she was nothing if not committed.
Butcher gave Starlight a glare as the door opened, if it was Vought, Butcher would make sure he killed her before they got the chance.
With their guns all pointed at the door, it make for a frosty reaction as they saw Lila walk in, looking remarkably calm.
The last they had seen of her was back in the storm drain, when Kimiko's brother was still alive, and a lot had happened since then that Lila was unaware of.
She slowly rose her hands with a small smirk, faking a surrender.
"Thought you'd be happier to see me" She grinned.
"You didn't think to call us? We were just about to hold a funeral" Butcher snidely commented.
"You weren't...but the thought is nice" Lila snapped back.
"Where'd you go?" Hughie perked up.
"Just visiting some old friends" Lila grinned. "Captain Solar's son? Heard of him?"
Starlight's eyes widened, she had heard of you, though she hadn't spoken to you as much as she would of liked, you didn't seem too bad.
Lila looked towards Kimiko, maybe it was the bond they had in both being supes that made them more chummy than others.
"Saw the news...my condolences" She said with no jokes, which was different, a fact Kimiko appreciated.
"Do you think he'd be willing to help us?" Starlight asked, and Lila looked at her almost offended.
"This is a job for sinners..." Lila muttered. "Y/N is not a sinner"
There was a beat of silence as Lila fixed herself, putting her sword to the side as she gave a small stretch.
"So what happened while I was out?" She asked.
"Well...now that you mention it" Butcher smiled a bit, as the door to one of the rooms opened. "We got some more help"
