-The Devil You Know-

-Chapter Nine: Dillon, Shipyard, Algeria-

"Who are you?"

Charlie was staying around your apartment for a few weeks, mainly because her father told her she needed to get out more, and you were the closest available.

Fun fact about her, she had very good hearing, even when you and Ava thought you were being quiet, Charlie would remind you that you weren't.

It was weird having no doubt the smartest person you were friends with stay round your house, since she had also converted her spare room into a technological wonder.

She had access to a bunch of CCTV cameras in the area which aided you, Ava and a little bit of herself in stopping criminals.

For the last few months things had been going pretty smoothly, Ava was spotted out more in her new suit, and people were fans to say the least.

March hadn't been doing much, all you were doing was checking in with him twice a week, where he'd give you a basic rundown of things, honestly he was kind of boring.

And come to think of it, you hadn't been called in two weeks, something was definitely up, and you'd no doubt need to speak to March about it.

Ava practically lived with you now, you had even met her parents, nice people, they seemed to like you as well.

That brought you to today, where the three of you were just hanging around, you were technically on the clock in an hour, but the phone started to wring.

Ava shot up to grab it, and you heard her talking on the phone for a while, as from her facial expression it looked like she was being told something slightly serious.

"What is it?" You asked as she put the phone down, as Ava stared back at you.

"Its the tower...they said we have a new teammate"

Honestly you were pretty excited, its had been quite some time since you had heard anything regarding your team, it wasn't even really a team if it was a duo.

You both took the elevator up to the floor you had gone to very frequently and found your room, it was honestly nerve wracking for you.

Homelander's plan was perfect, in theory, to get someone so hard to work with, the narrative could be spun when you inevitably would have to fire him.

That man was Dillon Levi, his initial interview was a struggle to do and took three times as long.

He used to be on a small scale team, and they had to kick him off because while he was a decent hero, he was the most unserious person ever.

You opened the door to the meeting room to see your new teammate taking up three of the chairs, leaning back on them.

Ava looked at you, as you looked confused, squinting a little bit before standing over him, as the new recruit slowly woke up.

"Dillon?" You asked, as his eyes widened.
