Fifteen

“Ready?”, Daniel asked.

They nodded. Daniel quickly drove to Kajang. They’re only a few kilometres away from it.  But suddenly, Daniel stopped his car. He pulls the handbrake before looking at the back of the car, facing them.

“Well, we can’t pass through,” he said.

Amber, who sat next to him, nodded her head, signalling that what he said was right.

“Why?”, Bella asked.

“There are barricades in front of us. The one that is made of stone. We can’t pass through,” Daniel explained.

“So, do we need to walk? Mike asked.

“Perhaps, we have to,” Amber said.

They were reluctant at first. Thinking about the unknown creature roaming this area. They might also get killed by them. But, there's nothing they can do.

“Let’s go,” Nowa said.

They carefully left the car and didn’t put their guard down while holding on tight to the firearms. Daniel walks inside the barricade area with Allan following behind him. They check the situation far ahead before telling the others.

“It’s safe. Come here,” Daniel said using his walkie-talkie.

The rest of them begin to walk. A lot of cars have been abandoned around here. They can take any of it but they need to pass the next barricades. They seem to have blocked this area around. This is the highway that could connect them to Kajang. So, Kajang is not that far anymore.

“Ouch!”, Nowa suddenly stumbled.

“You good?”, Bella asked while helping her up.

“Ergh, my ankle can’t stay that long!”, Nowa said.

It must be from all the walking and running before that it caused her ankle to get hurt even more. Nowa swallowed a painkiller. It might help her to walk even more.

“Guys, I don’t feel good,” Bella said with Nowa in her hand.

“What do you mean?”, Amber asked.

“I feel like something is watching us.”

“Where?”, Daniel asked.

“I don’t know. I got goosebumps just now. Like, something is watching us from the buildings around us.”

They increased their guard. The creature might be anywhere around here, watching for them, waiting to attack. 

Clang!!

They heard something stumbling into a trash can. They quickly look in the same direction. Before they managed to do anything, one of them got the attack from the one they saw at the supermarket. The one that is thinner than the fishy one.

“Arghh!!”, it humping Mike.

Allan took charge to shoot it without hitting Mike. He did pretty well with his aim but he let his guard off, causing him to also get attacked. He blocked it from biting him using the firearm. 

“They’re a lot of them!”, Amber said while trying to help.

They didn’t shoot but they tried to pull it away. 

“Woah! Ergh!”, Bella got thrown away when she was helping Allan to get rid of the creature.

Her back hit something hard. She sees it as a chance to get rid of everything since they are too afraid to shoot, unlike Allan and Amber. She hurts her back but still stands up and opens the pin of the fire extinguisher. But before she managed to do anything, an incident took place.
