Chapter 15
3x03

Sage was looked in a room laying on the bed, when Lexa walked in.

"I thought I told your guards, 'I didn't want to see you.' So go, please." Sage said staring at the roof.

"I respected your wishes for a week, Sage. We've got bigger concerns." Lexa said.

Sage sat up. "Funny, I thought all our concerns ended when you left me inside the mountain."

"But we do." She stepped in front of Sage. "I'm hosting a summit with Skaikru at sundown. You'll be returned to your people."

"I don't have people, thanks to you." Sage got up and walked over to the window. "Why'd you go through all that trouble to capture me, if you were just gonna let me go?"

"I went to all that trouble to save you." Lexa told Sage.

"Huh. You know when I could have really used saving? When you made a deal with the mountain men to save your people, which apparently didn't include me." Sage said. "That's when I could have used saving."

"Clearly, you didn't need my help."

"No, but it would have been nice." She turn to look out the windows. "To have been saved so I didn't have to wipe out an entire population. Which included innocent kids, and my friends."

"Your angry, Sage." Lexa stated.

"No shit, Sherlock, you cracked the code." Sage walked around.

"But I know you. What you've done haunts you." Lexa analysed. "And it's easier to hate me than to hate yourself."

"I can do both." Sage looked at Lexa for a second before looking back down.

"What would you have done if their leader had offered you the deal? Save your people at the price of mine. Would you really have chosen differently?" Lexa asked.

"I wouldn't betray you. I don't betray my friends."

"But you did. You had friends in Mount Weather."

"Those deaths are on your hands, just as much as their on mine." Sage's wound from where Roan shot her with an arrow started acting up. But she still managed to keep yelling at Lexa. "The only difference between us, is you have no honor and I had no choice."

"It helps no one to dwell on the past." Lexa stated. "And that's not why I'm here. You're right, I'm not just letting you go back to your people. I want something more. I want your people to become my people." Sage's eyes narrowed. "I'm offering Skaikru the chance to join my coalition, become the 13th clan. No one would dare to move against you because that would be moving against me."

Sage chuckled. "You should've kidnapped Clarke if you wanted someone who had the power to do that. Just leave me alone, okay? I'm done. I'm out."

"You can't run away from who you are, Sage." Lexa said. "Join me. Bow before me and your people will be safe."

"I'd rather die, then bow before you again." Sage chuckled. "You don't give a damn about Skaikru. I know why you're here. I made you look weak at Mount Weather. And now the Ice Nation is exploiting that. Well if you want to power of Wanheda, kill me. Take it. Otherwise, go fucking float yourself because I will never get down on my knees for you again."
