"Ara! Wake up Arabella!" I recognize Hermione's vice shaking me awake. What the hell happened? I feel like only a second has passed by since I was at my desk. How did I end up in my bed?

"Hermione? What is it? What's wrong? You look like someone died." She looks at me worryingly before she explains. "Filch's cat was petrified." "Petrified? What the hell do you mean?" She explains how just barely an hour ago her, Harry, and Ron saw blood written on one of the walls in the castle and next to it was Filch's cat hung up in the air, petrified. Goose bumps travel across my arms. "Oh my god. The poor creature. What was written on the walls?" I ask her. "It said, 'the chamber of secrets has been opened, enemies of the heir beware.'" But before that Harry came up to Ron and I telling us he can hear a voice that's going to kill. It was all... strange. Have you been in the common room this whole time Arabella?" She asks me.

Jesus Christ. That's all so morbid Harry hears a voice, and the poor cat turns up petrified. "Yea. I've been here all-night Hermione, what does the writing mean Hemione?" She sits down on her bed next to mine and says, "I... I don't know. But I have a feeling this isn't going to be a calm year. For any of us." I sit up and rub my hands on my face in exhaustion. "I don't know how any of us are going to get any sleep now with someone out in the castle writing in blood and petrifying animals." We look over at each other in worry before she gets up and changes into her night clothing. "I need to use the loo." I tell her. I go over to the private bathroom in our dorm and the lights turn on and I look in the mirror in horror. My hands are all covered in blood, and I gasp and back into the door causing a commotion. "Are you okay Ara?" Mione asks me through the door." Uh-I, Y-yea! I'm okay Hermione. Just- just stubbed my toe. I'll be out in a second. See you in the morning!" I yell back at her. "Uh... okay. Goodnight." I don't answer her as I can't stop staring at myself in the mirror. I shake my thoughts away from me and wash my hands in the sink watching the blook wash away. I peek my head out the door and see that everyone is asleep, including Hermione.

I storm over to my desk and see the diary. I open it aggressively and write.

What the hell did you make me do?

I'm shaking in my desk as I see the diary write back.

Nothing that didn't need to be done. You'll forget this conversation and go back to bed Arabella. You'll come back to me again soon. When I call for you, you will know. Imperio.

As if I'm in some sort of trance again, I walk back to my bed and shut my eyes having a peaceful rest.

"Could I have your attention, please?" McGonagall asks us as Transfiguration class starts up silencing everyone.

"Now, today, we will be transforming animals into water goblets. Like so." She brings her wand up to her bird, "One, two, three. Vera Verto." Her bird transforms into a goblet right before our very eyes. We all murmur how cool this lesson is going to be today.

"Now it's your turn. Who would like to go first?" She walks down the aisle and stops at between Hermione and mine's desk and Harry and Ron's. "Ah Mr. Weasley. One, two, three. Vera Verto." She tells him again and we all look over at him expectingly. Ron gulps loudly and takes out his wand pointing to his rat, Scabbers. "Ahem. Vera Verto." He transforms his rat into half goblet, half rat. Grossing out half the class while the rest, the rest being mostly Slytherin snicker at him, besides Harry and I we openly chuckle at our friend's misfortune. Hermione looks over at me and tells me with her eyes to be quiet. I take my fingers up to my lips, pretending to zip my mouth shut and I hand her the pretend zip lock before looking back over to Ron.

"That wand needs replacing, Mr. Weasley." Hermione raises her hand up. " Yes, Miss Granger?" "Professor, I was hoping you could tell us about the Chamber of Secrets." Her question silences the whole classroom as we all look at the professor. She sighs loudly before stating, "Very well. Well, you all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four greatest wizards of the age: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Now, three of the founders coexisted quite harmoniously. One did not. -" "Three guesses who." Ron tells Harry interrupting the professor. "Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed magical learning should be kept within all-magic families. In other words, pure bloods."
